Anyone placing bets on if this show gets the Willow treatment and pulled off D+ in the near future?

I'm convinced that Disney is making rubbish Star Wars TV on purpose as some kind of money losing exercise to assist their other income producing assets........There is simply no other explanation for the level of incompetency involved with all the Star Wars TV they've thrown at us.

Doc- offensive to non medical professionals
Happy- insensitive to depressed people.
Grumpy- thoughtlessness towards to the optimistic
Sneezy- unaccomodating to the allergic
Sleepy- tone deaf to narcoleptics
Bashful- inconsiderate of the socially awkward
Dopey- rude to dullards
Snow White- unrealistic beauty expectations
Evil Queen- ageist propaganda

Someone call the cancel culture hotline. I'm offended by all of it and want the brothers Grimm canceled for propagating stereotypes.
Psab, I think we need to seriously discuss stereotypes here. It's important for those who will read this topic in the years to come to have an appropriate understanding of what these mean, and how they should view them. To that end, I hope the graphic that I am posting (which will be in a spoiler due to the subject matter; I feel it's required given the sheer weight and magnitude of the topic we're discussing here) will go at least some way in demonstrating the various stereotypes and how they apply in this post-modern world.

With that, let me present this:

I think this should just about cover it. let me know if I missed any.

I don't think so.

SW is arguably the most extreme example. But Disney has been doing similar stuff all over their other franchises. They keep doubling-down harder on the same specific kinds of bad judgment.

Well, the creator of the show has certain..

...um, *ties* to powerful people.

And when you see that some episodes were filmed in the woods --like old, extremely low-budget, scyfy channel movies-- and scenes were repeated, it makes you wonder where all that $180 mil went.

Godzilla Minus One cost less than one episode of The Acolyte

Since ONE PERSON wrote, and directed and...not like that is where the money went. Carrie Ann Moss, I hope she got cash upfront!

But people were too busy arguing over who is a legit Star Wars fan. That helped run distraction.

"Follow the money," -Rorschach.

and then Deadpool and Friend (DeadPool 3)comes out, and all the excuses to dismiss fans watching an entertaining product dissolve.

Not superhero (or Star Wars) fatigue.

shreds the PC cops

Not the economy making less people go to the movies

It took a lot to dismantle just about everything I ever loved about Star Wars, but over the past few years they somehow managed to do it.

It feels strange to think that, since 1977, I have never been as disinterested in Star Wars as I am today.

Im not saying it happens here, but something that bothers me i see lots of people celebrating the fact this got canceled. Largely it comes from the same people who decided it was terrible before it aired largely over casting choices. Like the choices or not, it still deserved a fair shot and it didnt get that across the board.

In the end this failed because some of the choices were bad, bad direction, and bad writing. Once it finally got past that, too many people had dropped out. It didnt deserve a 2nd season. But that isnt a reason the celebrate the fact.

I wanted to see the inner workings and the pov of the sith, but i feel like that will likely not happen now as some suit will assume it failed because it didnt feature good beating bad.

It 100% happens here.

It's just (poorly) hidden behind "I'm just joking!".

Also the people cheering for it to get the willow treatment bother me because just because you didnt like a show doesn't mean nobody gets to watch it.
IMO it didnt get a fair shot from the writers either, if the thing on brendock had turned out to be genuinely scandalous it could have been a fantastic show and that makes me so sad because quimir is an incredible character! Maybe we'll get manny jacinto back for a movie or something but im not holding out hope

You know, there is this, and helps me a lot:

A modern trend I am seeing in the entertainment industry. ANY social media backlash against any project is quickly deemed racist/mysoginist/phobic/review bombing/fanboi backlash, etc... as a "get out of jail free" card, so that any failure of the project itself can be linked by its creators to internet trolls. Hence, they try to shield themeselves from shouldering at least some of the blame for the failure.

BUTTTT..... even in the face of online "attacks", if the project is successful, then the creators are glad to take FULL CREDIT for its performance.

I have not heard any recent hollywood scale project lead(s) take responsibility for their failure.

It is Bots VS Bots aka Studio V Studio. The great social media bot war has been going on for years. Maybe .000000000000001% of those comments are from real people, and 100% of those people are 12 year old trolls.

No but i have uneqivocally see people condemn this before, during, and after it ended cue to dei, etc. Largely, they are the ones celebtating the canceling as well.

DEI isnt wrong, but, you also have to make something good in the process. The failed in that regard, and it is that simple. I have said before, too, that they didnt give us what they said either. This was supposed to be a story from the dark side pov. The whole season turned out to be build up to that.it is not what they said it would be. Ironically, it only got interesting as they got to that part, but you cant get interesting in your final episode if you want a season 2. It actually reminds me of what i have seen in a lot of netflix shows...it is like the creators made a 16 episode season and the streamer only airs 8 and calls it s1. You vet right in the middle of something...then it ends, and you are like wth? It is over?

But do not sell me story A, then make story B poorly and blame me for not liking it enough for you to get s2 where you might have given me story A which is what you promised me in the first place.

EXACTLY!

And the people who said, "dont watch it, this isnt for you." Got what they asked for.

...and the accompanying consequence.

And we all know, if The Acolyte was green-lit for two more seasons, the same folks who loved the show before it ever aired would be in-your-face, victory dancing.

The people who didnt care about the plot, but thought Yord was hot, would be spamming everyone's feed.

Does Star Wars need more"Gee, maybe Qimir can take his pants off again..." ?

folks should be happy season one was aired.

TWo sets of people made predictions, only one could be right. Hopefully the folks who like The Acolyte and Willow will eventually get it.

Now there is a petition to bring it back
