SW Acolyte in a tail spin

I do not fear the darkside as you all do...sorry could not resist. I do not hate all the Disney Star Wars shows like most of the so called SW "fans" in these threads do, but I hope if this is true they will finally have an auction of screen-used props and costumes to make some of the money back from it all. That is good that could come out of all this.

What's up with fans in quotations? Everyone here is entitled to their opinion and I don't think disliking the recent Star Wars media makes them any less of a fan..
Following up on this, there's so much Star Wars media, between the movies, shows, comics, and books I think it's just inappropriate to question if someone is a fan because they dislike some of the media put out. You don't have to like every little thing relating to the media to be a fan of it.

I think that's one of the most amazing things about Star Wars and everything that's been put out so far about it. There's so much for people to enjoy and be fans of.

Hopefully, my slight ramblings make sense, I sometimes have a hard time finding and choosing proper words to convey my thoughts.

A couple of things here:

1) Not liking the SW Disney shows/ movies isn't "fearing the darkside"; it's personal preference.

2) You don't get to define who a "fan" is just because they don't like the same parts of Star Wars that you do.

If that's your opening salvo in this discussion, then I'm just gonna place you on ignore and not wait for the Christmas rush, Skippy.

Some of us are critical of a company and the products they produce. At times, critical of the people who make said products for being downright nasty to paying customers.

But sure. Let's keep shaming other fans for not being "fan" enough to tolerate it.

Agreed, never understood people having a problem with what other people enjoy.
One of my friends from high school loves nearly everything Star Wars, and knows full well that I don't. But we've never shamed one another for our differing tastes or denied the other's fandom, as if that term held any sort of significance whatsoever.

As a culture we all need to move past this insane notion that critical examination is "hatred."

Temple of Doom and Return of the Jedi are two of my favorite movies, and some fans rag on those all the time. Their opinions haven't deterred me from loving them, whatsoever.

I don't need to tear others down to enjoy what I do.

Exactly!

Why some people think that they have the monopoly on ‘fandom’ I’ll never understand.

I loved Mando season 1. I liked season 2 and was left hoping that the fade to black on season 3 was the end.

Loved, loved, loved Andor!

Kenobi was fun, though it broke continuity.

TBOBF was fun just for the sake of the tread about it on this forum.

Ahsoka was a bit disappointing, but loved Hayden in it. He was truly the bright spot.

Saw The Acolyte episodes 1 and 2 and thought that they were off to a great start.

Stopped watching episode 3 eight minutes in, skipped 4-7 and watched 8 just to see how it ended.

Making the kyber crystal bleed was a cool visual, but it was a lackluster show.

But… I wasn’t here calling fans of it, idiots for still watching it.

So…. Apparently, The Acolyte burnt a lot more money on its budget.

I’m a fan of Star Trek, but think Spock’s Brain is the dumbest thing to come from the franchise.

When I binge my DVD’s I usually skip that episode.

Am I now Not Fan enough?
So this is WAY off topic, but man! I LIKE that episode! I rather enjoy some of the cheesie episodes most ST fans hate. Space hippies, Abraham Lincoln, Wyatt Earp, flying jelly bat things, even 1930s gangsters. I love these. So maybe I’m not normal but does that make me any less of a Star Trek fan? Hell, I own a full sized captain’s chair that sits in the middle of my tv room!
My point is you can’t discount me as a fan because I love most of the less popular of the episodes.

“Who knows? Maybe someday they’ll want a piece of OUR action!”
LOL

Now it's time for a segment i call...Cause and Effect

Cause:
The OT was the greatest Trilogy of all time
Effect: Fans continue to love it to this day and continues to be a major reason why most of us are even on the RPF.

Cause:The ST was the worst Star Wars Trilogy ever.
Effect:Fans were left empty but hungry for The Mandalorian to erase their memories

Cause:Season 1 of The Mandalorian left fans hopeful for the future
Effect:Season 2 was created to heal the wounds of the ST

Cause:Fans get the Luke they thought they'd be getting in the ST
Effect:Mando and Grogu get displaced and made irrelevant

Cause:Grogu this and Grogu that
Effect:Fans aren't buying it anymore

Cause:Season 3 of Mandalorian sucked
Effect:Disney doubles down and announces a movie for Mando and Grogu and yet another Rey Trilogy

Cause:Disney tries to shove crap down the fans throats, hoping to buy themselves time to recover from all their losses.
Effect: The Acolyte is born and dies in epic fashion.

Cause:Disney will never change
Effect:The OT continues to be the greatest Trilogy of all time.

Now obviously, i left a lot of gaps...but you get the picture...lol
