It would be cool to see the learning process, they could even do a "catch me if you can" episode were we see them creating fake id's and practising conning their way round and stuff. The possibilities are endless.

I would have them just pre teen. Largely for longevity, if the show became a runner you'd sharp run into the start of the original, bearing in mind that Sam was still at college when it began.

I fear for Supernatural as it is, I think the series has taken a massive nose dive so something like an 'origins' series might actually be a good idea. For me the best Supernatural was when it was Sam and Dean in the car, driving round killing stuff. Occasionally they would get dragged into something a bit bigger, like the yellow eyes arc for example, but when it became heaven and hell, and the fate of the entire universe etc, it got a bit crap.

The only problem with that is John didn't become a hunter until after Mary's death. Matt Cohen is far too young (or at least young-looking) to play that role, especially if you're saying the boys are in their teens.

I went back and did the math and Matt could play the part...grow a beard and have Dean 15 or 16 and Sam 12 or 13...according to the show...theyre like 3 1/2 years apart....and age wise it works out about right as far as how young Jeffrey Dean Morgan would have been at their ages....I think the hair and beard would make a difference....wink..
