Superman Fortress Console

Hi all...well after nearly four years of sketching ideas, then starting/quitting, then starting again, I have finally got close to finishing a Supes Fortress console similar to the films to hold my growing number of Hydin superman crystals.

Recently seeing Simpson77's and BlueMirageStudio efforts gave me a kick up the butt to dust of the parts which I started dry fitting last year, prior to a family loss, and has set my mind to finally complete my first large scale project (well bigger than making some re-animator reagent, hey I'm new to this)...

Its not completely there, or the same league as some, but I'm happy to finally have a place for the crystals to call home, rather than them being tucked away in a box.

The stand remains white light lit until a crystal is put in the centre slot, pressure sensored, which activates the additional green LED's...which don't show brilliant on camera :(

That's pretty cool, you could hook it up to the home computer and have certain crystals execute certain applications.

Cheers guys, the tubes were bought from a clear plastics supplier on ebay (plexiglass)...still got some final cosmetic touches to be added to the inside top of the display so it will look like ice formations to hide the inside electronics, hopefully should get that done over the next few weeks now i'm back from vacation....

already planning a version 2 build with a more solid wood base giving way to a gradient'ed frosted plexiglass top...must have got bitten by the building bug...however it is very slow with no power tools :(

Well version two is underway (at the same time as version 1, last touches being put on after hols), base painted and lights in place. Plastic's marked and planning to cut once back from small vacation... finally manage to find a space to build at a bigger scale...:love
