Done / Completed Suit

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

A very ambitious but hopefully rewarding idea, I wish you all the best with this, I loved the film and will be fascinated to see the 3D print of this suit.
All the best.

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Amazing work! (right thread this time) About time someone made quality like this available. Definitely want a full suit and helmet shipped in parts (due to funding) . Please pm me with pricing and options for shipping to UK - I have waited so long for this! Well done bro.

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Still working out the exact pieces but yes I want to include full hands and fingers in one of the bundles :)

Nice ! I find the hands a real PITA to make accurately if you don't want to go the pep/resin way, and my efforts would have looked plain bad next to a suit like this ! Anyway, I'm ready for a deposit for the first bundle whenever you are !

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

I apologize if this has already been answered, but Biggeek1972, will the previous Mark 42 helmet that you offered be in scale with the rest of the printed suit? I already have that helmet and it'd be great to use it for the bust I want to make with these.

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

So, did you manage to get anything printed yet :D ?

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

bump for a great suit!.. hopefully will acquired this when i manage the funds :)

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Started printing this morning, had a bit of a hard time trying to set up the 3D files for the printing process. Once I get something to a state for viewing I will take some pics :)

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Yes ! What part did you decided to print ? Can't wait to see !

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Sweet !
Like I said already, I'm ready for a deposit/full payment up to 1000$ anytime you want !

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Was gonna ask this on Neuer's thread, but it might be more appropriate here (sorry for the double post):

The silver bits are gonna end up being rubber anyway... and prints have started :)

Even the silver parts separating the golden and red parts

That seems odd, it doesn't need much flexibility that I can see ? There are similar silver parts all over the suit, that are not flexing area, will they be rubber too ?
I trust your judgment 100% though, I'm just curious.

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Alright, I thought so too. But then again, from the behind the scenes videos I've seen, the whole suit seems to be made of rubber anyway :lol

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

As long as its not an overly complicated process to paint it, and it looks like plastic/metal once painted, I don't think it's much of a big deal, they just don't want to see the "rubbercop" effect (robocop reboot suit). It would even be a bitter better, since it would be more resistant I suppose to scratches and bumps not to mention less restrictive. Which is exactly what they succeeded to do apparently with the hero suit, if it wasnt for the behind the scenes, I would never have guessed it was a flexible material. Heck, most of the time I thought it was cgi when they actually used a real suit !

Re: Iron Man 3 XLII Full 3D printed suit

Well it looks like a hard rubber that flexes to put on. That was my idea in the very first post..saying I may have a different way to run these. But I'm not sure you guys on here would want something that flexible, seems like everyone wants hard resin pieces :)

I once saw a Halo Trailer making of. They used a material what was flexible but looked hard. Maybe I can find it tomorrow...

I could imagine that a whole rubber Suit would be very heavy?
