Suicide Squad

Well, HQ is certainly a naughty one! She's the only one who has my attention.

The message that's on Facebook is amusing regarding the release of the HD trailer...

"Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation."
- Sue Kroll, President Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures

Gee, how many people were in that hall with cell phones? :rolleyes

Even after seeing the trailer I still think there's a bunch of cosplayers who Quinn'd it better than in this film. I am not impressed with this actress's take on it.

Jared Leto's a great actor, but I'm not liking this Joker much at all.

Why even elaborate on the fact I just don't like much about this trailer, period.

Oh and gotta drop the cliche' "So you're saying we're some kind of (Enter Movie Title)..." line. ;)

I like it, I'm excited to see Leto's Joker, reminds me of the Joker in Batman:RIP

Or maybe studios should stop trying to stop the inevitable and just release the damn trailer online after they screen it at the panel, which is what they did with BvS. The whole concept of exclusive trailers makes no sense - trailers are marketing material and the more eyeballs, the better. Studios can share other con exclusives that aren't trailers, like B-roll footage, early CG renders, and concept artwork. I get that SS, Deadpool, and X-Men weren't finished trailers, but they weren't too far off from being finished either.

Yeah definitely, except for the grill and tattoos. If they took that stupid junk out of his look, he would look amazing.

I'm okay with the tattoos and grill honestly, it looks like something the RIP characterization would do so I think that's what reminded me of him so much

When I saw that first cast photo, I wasn't too enthused about this movie. Also, I really dislike Will Smith in just about everything he's ever done. After watching the teaser, I think I might have to catch this one.

When I was younger, if I heard a line like "how are you going to control them" "Because getting people to act against their own self interest is my job"

I would've thought..."Yeah! Good answer! You tell em! We're gonna get **** done!"

Now I hear it and think "What? Thats not an answer! You totally dodged the question! Can we get someone competent in here?"

I think maybe I've sat through too many meetings.
Love it. :)

However, having just watched it, the question is "what makes you think you can control them", which makes the answer sensible.

So if Batman has been Batman for over twenty years, do you think he has been fighting the Joker since the Joker was in his 20s?

I tend to see Joker as part of the escalation that swells up when costumed heroes become prevalent. In that way I would like to think that Bruce was probably in year 4 or 5+ when Joker sprang up in Gotham.

I kinda like the idea that he's always been there, maybe a gang member like in the 1989 film,or some serial killer in the shadows kinda like was suggested in the first Batman Begins but not as "Joker" just your average crazy.

Then he runs into Batman like you say a few years after Batman has been around, and gets tossed into a chemical vat and comes out not only crazier but looking like a circus clown from hell and with a permanent rictus grin.

It could fit with the "love story" interpretation of their relationship too. I could see Joker as a small time criminal/working with the Red Hood gang only to become enamored with Batman as his legend continues to grow, and eventually evolving into full on obsession.

That...brings up a rather scary thought-the fact he's doing what he does because he wants Batman's attention.

Yea now that makes him not only crazy but friggin' creepy.

I think Leto will give an amazing performance as the joker. I hope they'll give a little backstory on him though.
