Hi guys been awhile since I have posted. A little update on my ongoing projects. Still working hard on my snowspeeder but have gotten caught up in this endless loop of building and rebuilding parts in an attempt to get it perfect. It has been tedious but it is still coming along. Just wanted to share a project with you that I have just about finished. I decided to replicate the prop so the cross tube will be visible through the tie's window frame. The building of the model is finished and the pics show it with a couple of primer coats on. I just have to add the lighting, I have the LEDs ready to go. I also have to glue on the flak seats to the bomb tube and the stuka parts but I'll put these on after colour coats. I was hoping to get some advice on paint colour. The reference shows it to be standard Tie Fighter colour, do you think Tamiya haze gray would be best or should it be bluer? I also have a request, I need a couple of parts from the Tamiya Vosper, I am looking for A5 or A6 and a D26.
Thanks again and let me know what you think.
Helio

Very nice build!! I'll be putting mine together soon. As to the color, I'm no expert, but I think it's blue :)

That looks fantastic, Helio. I second Lee's Tamiya Haze for paintage. My speeder is hoping to get a bit more attention this upcoming holiday season - might even finish it!

Allan!!!! A double whammy of top notch builders return in one day lol! Really hope to see that speeder done soon Allan!

Thanks for the kind words guys, glad you like it. So I guess I will look no further than the Tamiya Haze for my bomber. Allan really nice hearing from you, it's been a long while, I'm really looking forward to seeing some paint work on your speeder. Lee, I haven't really gone anywhere, just been lurking in the background. As I stated earlier, I have been trying to progress my own speeder but continue to hit snags. I must have built the brake boxes 10 times and always find an issue, but I finally think I have nailed them. Do you think either of you could help out with the Vosper parts? I could definitely pay you for them. That is the thing I hate about building these replicas. You have all these donor parts that need modifying and then you cut off too much and need to get another kit because you just ruined the part. I couldn't even tell you how many Leo parts I messed up for the bomber. I hate asking but if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Lee. I am looking for A5 or A6 and D26. Here is a couple of pics.

Excited to read more. Very interesting thread to build and paint mine.
Great build, congratulations :thumbsup

Ah, okay. Well, JMJmodels released one back in the day. Rolando(?) did, too way back. And Stu released a starter kit of machined parts and tubes a few years back.
