Street hawk's motorcycle ?

Hi, who knows what was the motorcycle used as the "Street Hawk" T.V. serie ?
Thanks.

Well, there were two main variations. In the pilot, the motorcycle was based on the 1983 Honda XL500 trailbike. The main bikes used in the series' run were based upon the 1984 Honda XR 500s. And, stunt bikes were based upon Honda CR250s. The Cars of the Stars Motor Museum has the only surviving bike. I'm sure if you contacted them, they'd be willing to share information and parts that they used in their restoration. Here's their website. http://www.carsofthestars.com/cots.html

Hope this helps

the wheels look like kawasaki z series alloys to me, and the front fairing looks like it coudlve originally been a suzuki katana part heavily modified.

The bike was bought by a U.K. friend of mine several years ago from a seller in Florida. At that time the motorcycle was in bad shape, fiberglass cracked, no electronics, etc. After owning it for a period of time my pal needed to sell it, and wanted to get back his investment. Lacking the funds myself, I put him in touch with Chris Bromham who purchased the bike and lovingly restored it to "hero" status. The bike eventually made it to the museum where it remains today. Chris also had a Street Hawk jumpsuit, but I don't know if thats the one currently found with the bike.

Pretty cool, the seller in florida is a friend of mine.. I remember when he got the bike. I crate fell on the bike while it was in transit and that's how the fiberglass cracked and yes it was in bad shape.

Several of us hoped Eric in Orlando would produce and sell molds and copies of that series-version hero bike, but he never did. He sold it to Andy in the UK before Andy then sold it to Chris.

I purchased molded-from-original parts, a nose and the side panels, from Eric that he found years after owning his original series hero bike (there were two). That said, I preferred the look of the pilot bike better and have been building a replica of that, as are a couple other guys. Check out our builds on Street Hawk Online | The Man, the Machine, Street Hawk!.

I will be offering replica parts for the pilot-version bike I am building. The series-version original parts I have aren't suitable for molding. For one thing, they were carved sloppily and are terribly asymmetrical. Fine for TV work, but in person it's pretty obvious. Instead, when I eventually finish the pilot bike parts and if I decide to also make series-version parts, I'll take measurements from the series-version original nose I have and recreate a symmetrical version from scratch.
