Helllo,
I bought a great suit a while back and he had come forth and asked
about getting it back from me.

It has amp in the bucket, complete, has an orange should pad thingy.

I do not know who made it.

I have an interest in getting rid of it, times being what they are.
I would like to find out who it was I got it from and can anyone here look at the following pictures and tell me who made this?

Ready, set, go!

If it is a GF suit, he would have signed the inside of it.

When I got one from him, they were $1000, but that was before everyone recast him.

hmmm... not sayin it isnt; but how can u tell its a GF ? just wondering wot the tell tale signs are, its a suit that u seldom get a chance to look at now.

I have only seen a GF helmet, the signature is on the back plate, just under where the dome is. in fact theres one for sale in the JY now mate.

recently saw a GF kit for sale over at teh FISD - think they were asking for $700-800?

It's an older style GF, also known as the FX. It is NOT the armor that is currently called GF - that is later, more accurate armor. Just to not confuse the two.

It's 501st approved, as far as I know.

Personally, for a finished set it would be around $500-$800, I'd think... and this is just my own personal opinion, but I would get rid of it ASAP.

FX armor IS a GF. Just a fan sculpt rather than the later cast and reworked from screen used armor we know as a GF today.

For the FX to be the original GF creation and not one of the recasts, I would think it would be signed. If it's not signed, it's just a GF/FX recast.

Well it's not complete there's no belt do you have the belt ?
The reason i ask is im pretty sure there's a tell on that, didn't GF place a coin or something on the form to make the belt at the centre.
This was different on later FX recasts and reworks that you see on ebay now.
That would be the best way to distinguish a GF original FX from the FX stuff you see now.

Man, I always assume that people are aware of armor history and am always shocked and disappointed when what ACTUALLY went down becomes lost in the dust of history. I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised, it has happened to me as well. :unsure

The GF-GT/FX lineage goes like this.

GF took a set of old Marco Ent. armor and heavily re-worked it to make it better. It was not sculpted from scratch.

GF had a working relationship with a guy (I forget his name, but I think it was Dale from Galaxy Trading) who would sell the suits for him.
That guy got greedy, and wanted to have the suits mass produced, so he ended up recasting GF, and cutting GF out of the equation.

That's where GT/FX armor was born.

When confronted about recasting GF, the guy denied it publicly.
Then GF pointed out a tell on the belt, (he used a canadian coin for the belt tab). Everyone who owned an FX suit checked their belts and BAM, they all had the tell and the guy was busted for lying.

I know I'm not the only old timer here who remembers all these histories.
I guess it shows just how easily things can become 'muddy' when people who were around at the time aren't here to verify and confirm re-accountings.

.

So,will the belt be the only tell on this suit to determine the make?

I have the belt somewhere.
So many props.

I am interested in selling it.

Fulcrum you have first shot at it.

I wish I had the old email of the guy who used to troop in it.

Let me know.

Yeah I was the one who scanned and posted the pic of the coin impression on my GT/FX belt.

That was a long time ago.
