here start of my work
following soon..

Nice start.

General Staff collar tabs however have 'teeth'.

Here are some pictures of real collar tabs. The pink ones are for dress tunics.

You can make out the 'teeth' on the pic of Tom Cruise.

I know but you speak about the uniform of the murder attempt! I am going to make that of pic of group, i, the movie scénes malheureusement in some colour of pass-hair changes, to pass ot the pink color to the red.

If you are going to do this, then do it right. The collar tabs you have chosen are wrong. They are post war E German with flat wire on the wrong color cloth. Go to a proper company like Janke in Germany and obtain the correct General Staff type collar tabs with silver bullion embroidery on the correct bottle green wool. And, don't forget the double scarlet stripes down the breeches.

the history of ww2 it's my job ok!

I am curious how work on this project is going?

I have been thinking of making up one of these uniforms too! Out of curiosity, where did you obtain your garment pieces?

Interesting choice!
I always liked the uniform. Are you going to go full out, visor cap and all?

As far as a tunic goes I am using one for a Hans Landa replica uniform from East Germany. Mine works because it is pretty much the same as far as colour and even piping on the collar and arms. But it seems the uniform Tom Cruise wears is a much lighter grey almost white tunic with feldgrau breeches or maybe just deep charcoal. Its hard to tell. I'm looking at my east German tunic right now, a different one, similar to the Stauffenberg tunic in cut but it is much darker. I don't know much about lightening fabrics but if thats possible to do without wrecking the fabric it could work.

Interested to see how this developes.

Watch out on this one, German WW2 uniform are a sience on there own ;-)

Post war German outfit are not done when you try to make a good impression. Shape, colors, ect.

The collar tabs with pink piping are for the panzer troops (pink: panzer, green: Heer (waffenfarbe is white), orange: Feldpolizei, yellow:Luftwaffe airborn personel like Fallschirmjägers and pilots)

The officers have also different kind of insignia like a silver eagle instead of white, golden eagles are for the Kriegsmarine

Tunics are also different, the difference between soldiers and officers is not only the fabric but allso the buttons, pocket shape and colours.

Pockets can also be different on tunics, depending on what type. The M36, M40, M42 and M44.

Like a said, a sience on it's own
