Stark's see-thru phone Iron Man 2/Avengers Assemble

Hey all,

Amongst all the myriad props I want to make/own from the Marvel series of movies that led up to the Avengers movie, Tony Starks clear phone has recently been kicked off the top spot by the Tesseract

But still, I would love to know how to make one of these. I can sorta see how one of these would go together, but it's the display panels that I can't really get sussed. Any information you guys can give me I'd greatly appreciate it.

ehm very sorry but the technology dosn't exist for a see-thru phone....at least not if you want it to work......you could fint the right sized peice of plastic and try that...

I'm assuming you don't want it working since that's impossible. But you could make a prop that is based on this idea and the on a cellphone scale perhaps?

It would be pretty cool if it could work, but light needs a surface to reflect itself (and therefore the image). And a see-through phone does not have said surface. If you did add one though, that would ruin the see through part. I, for one, am very interested in any possible ideas, though.

In theory I suppose if you could make an OLED display sandwiched between two pieces of Gorilla Glass and a touch screen you'd likely have it and not have to worry about reflectivity. But that leaves almost no space for the guts of the phone so you would either have a thick border containing the circuits or a stub like on the concept phone.

Combine those monitors with a touch screen overlay and you have Stark's monitors from IM2 just not the holographic displays.
