We've started a little local group down in southern Louisiana. SG-21 the Louisiana StarGators. Thought I'd share some pictures from BayouCon.

cool
not wanting to hijack your thread, but here's my Cam Mitchell:

Always nice to see more Stargate costumers. We're getting the band back together! ;)

Not bad, if you really want to take your Stargate costumes to the next level I highly recommend you check out SciFi Hero, although we're a general sci-fi costuming & props site we were once SG-Command.net and we're still probably the foremost experts on all things Stargate. Between head honcho of SFH.net (screen name lostncybr) and another member who goes by Stitch they can get you everything you need for near screen accurate costume; I say near screen accurate because some things, like the vest, aren't produced anymore and you have to rely on the current models of vests made now that have slight differences from the ones used on SG-1.

Yeah, it's great site. I'm registered there.
Although the current Blackhawk vests are different to the ones used in Stargate, they can be modified something more screen accurate by purchasing a second vest with the correct back portion (eg Viper) and adding side ties instead of Velcro and modding the shoulder clips. The front two quick release clips also need to be removed from the 'elite' vest.

We (SG-21) are actually part of SG Operations.
Stargate Operations: The Home Base of SGC & SG-SOCOM

I know the costuming is not screen accurate and it doesn't bother me, it's actually kind of intentional. Never one to follow rules I decided when we started SG-21 that we could use updated gear and that our team would exist "after the shows ended".

Our website Louisiana Star-Gaters: SG-21 has a PDF that details the gear we use. Basically it's all made by a company called Rothco, with the exception of the boots which are Bates Enforcers.

Well, if you ever wanted to get your costume(s) more screen accurate and/or get to know a great bunch of Stargate costumers I'd definitely head on over to SciFi Hero. As I said before, we're probably the best Stargate costuming group/site out there, it's probably safe to say that most, if not all, other groups/sites out there got their info and/or stuff from us at one point or another.

hehe, got ya. probably sign up on the forum just for some discussions.

We're definitely good for that, back when the shows were on we used to have some really good research discussions about the various costumes and props that were shown. Sometimes we'd hit the nail on the head early on, other times we realized that we were really off once we got better reference images. The best one was when Atlantis first came on, we spent all kinds of time trying to make out the Atlantis patch before the show started based on the few promo pics that SyFy had released. At one time we thought what we now know is a pegasus was a 7 and someone had done a mockup of what they thought it was supposed to look like, before long some enterprising individual took that artwork and had patches made from it and you'd see them all over eBay, patch sites, cons, and even through Creation.
