Stargate (1994) Kurt Russell Costume

I've just added this fantastic costume to my collection. This is one of the original costumes worn by Kurt Russell as Col. Jonathan 'Jack' O'Neil in 1994 film Stargate. The hat is a replica and the gloves are just standing in to help complete the look. Everything else is original, even the dog-tag!
I'm going to try and find a matching holster and gun-belt aswell to finish off the display. Sorry for the poor picture (Camera phone!) the shirt is a little grubby from "sand" and studio distressing and the trousers are quite well worn with scuffs on the knees etc, but I hope everyone enjoys seeing it!

Great costume! What is the provenance of the item? It would be great to know where it came from and how you know it is real.

Somebody I've dealt with in the past contacted me regarding it, as he was letting go of various other items from his personal collection.
It originally came from The Collectors Bookstore in Hollywood, aside from the relevant paperwork accompanying it, it has various costume tags that were kept with it and labels inside each wardrobe piece.

I had to pass on some other great pieces to pick this one up, but I'm really pleased to have added it to my collection as my displays were becoming more than a little Riddick-obsessed :lol

Very cool. I think provenance is so over looked and ignored these days. Glad you got it covered!

I couldn't agree more Alec, although it's a shame when real items don't have the provenance to back them up, I never think it's worth taking the risk if an item can't be authenticated. There's just too many chances down the line where even innocent mistakes could have been made. So I'm always sure to do as much research as possible before making any purchases of original costumes or props.

I've put the pics back up for now untill I can get some better ones taken once I finish a real dispay for this. The mannequin is a little tall at the moment and I want to put something better to hold the hat in place.

What is the brand of the Boots?

The boots say 'Magnum' on the tag, I'm not familiar with the brand myself, but the same tag on the tongue can best be seen a few times on the boots at about 41 minutes 30 seconds into the film when the animal stops dragging Daniel and O'Neill and his team catch up. I gave the name a quick search and found they have been supplying the military (among other things) for well over 20 years.

Thanks for confirming what I had thought.

Great addition to the collection!!

Magnum is a very standard brand of military style boot. It is what BSG used for all their uniforms.
