Feel free to try that out! I haven't tried recoloring the chips so far, but it should be possible.
I'd expect the glossy foil-imprinted details to become a little dull and harder to see (The inset is just a small part of a millimeter).
If used for actual gaming, the finishing and Color might still rub off after some time, but it's worth a try. Maybe you can share your experiences here.
(I don't know if I'll have the time to do that myself, because I got several other projects at the moment...)

I've been thinking about this too. Just make sure to use a primer first before painting. Oh, and using a clear coat generally dulls the metal finish. I'd love to see some pictures of how they turn out if you do them!
