While it's fun to bring back so many McQuarrie concepts, there's a point where they don't seem to work in the design or for the characters any more.
This unused concept for Leia just doesn't seem to fit her character to me.

This show needs to stop being a tribute to itself and start telling some big stories.
I noticed the costume design instantly. 
I don't think "everyone in the Star Wars galaxy knows each other", but it makes sense that the rebels do. Hera knows Bail and Ahsoka. They established that toward the end of the first season. They also established that no one else on the Ghost did. So having Bail's politically-inclined, activist daughter show up is not remotely a stretch for me.
If anyone mentioned it I missed it, but I'm surprised not to see any comment on the Mandalorian Protectors being named. It was in the clips shown in the "new episodes coming in January" TV spot

i couldn't get the dang video to load... the wifi in the location sucks. that is wicked cool, i didn't pick up on the concept art! thats what i think i love so much about rebels is all the concept art they bring to life

First let us remember that this Leia is 16 years old here. And although I am sure she is mature for her age (or at least when compared to 16 year olds in our galaxy) she is a teen and therefore,,, you don't know crap about her so don't pretend to know what she would wear.
Second. The show is called Rebels. Not sure if you seen any of the OT movies but spoiler alert... She's a frickin' rebel! I think most here were wondering "when" she was going to appear on the show, not "if".
