STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

After watching this episode several times, I'm still bothered by the fact that the rebels are so quickly to forgive a group that used on of their members for bait and then sold them out to the empire.

I agree. That part was pretty dumb. The clone wars was never that convenient in their writing.

And the stuff about the ghost having a broken hyperdrive. That's only there as a plot device to keep them trapped on the surface.

The other cheesiness going on was the whole thing with using the head of the command droid to find the clones. That's very moffat-era doctor who writing

I agree with all the above. I know the writing in Rebels isn't exactly Shakespeare but I just thought this episode was particularly weak.

I would much rather have Billy dee in the new movie than on rebels

I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in Ep. 8...

you know i never really noticed this. i was doing some r2d2 concept art searches and noticed the concept of chewie sure does look allot like Zeb!!

i love how much concept art they are bringing to life

Yeah, they talked about that early on I think. I wish he were closer to the concept though.

yeah i am alittle late, i started watching half way through season 1. this is my favorite thing about the show is all the concept art they are making cannon, i think its great

I watched this earlier with my nephew and he thought it was funny when Rex trashed Stormtroopers. I just wonder how they will explain the presence of Jedi in this series. They've had surviving Jedi in other formats, like books and games, but nothing that was canon. Before, we were either under the assumption that Luke was the first new Jedi or we just decided that because you only see him in the movies.

The "last of the Jedi" topic has been debated and re-debated I this thread already. Not sure anything new at this point can be brought to light that will change anyones set views.

But yes, that was funny how they knocked the stormtroopers.

Very cool episode. Loved the walkers and Stormtrooper jokes. Rex and the boys are still bad ass. Inquisitor looks interesting.

This bugs me too but it is what it is. Yoda tells Luke he is the last of the Jedi, so we didn't imagine it. I just remind myself that this is 5 years before ANH so Kanan and Ahsoka still have time to die at some point. This episode was pretty blah for me, but the walkers and the sandstorm were neat I guess.

A bit baffled why there would be a more advanced AT-AT variant seen 5 years before ANH than what was in TESB. I would think the fleet assets of Vader himself would have the latest and greatest. Nothing about the "Rebels" AT-AT stands out as obviously more advanced (except maybe the guns having a greater degree of travel?) so I don't know why it couldn't have just been an earlier, older variant. I just assumed that's what it was. They also say it's bigger but it doesn't really look it? Anyway, I love the design of it though. The writing hasn't been anything special so far but the mining of unused concept art is probably what I like best about the show.

2 easy ways around the "last of the Jedi" line:
1) Yoda lied to get Luke to do what he needed to do.
2)It was true...from a certain point of view (i.e. he's the last officially trained Jedi)

Thats the way I see it. Yoda lied to get Luke to believe he was the last that could defeat Vader. Both Obi-Wan and Yoda Lied to Luke to get what they wanted.
