Star Wars prequels in Australia???

Is it true that some of the work on the prequels was done in Australia? Also, can anyone tell me if the set designers or prop makers happened to have a formula 1 car to pull parts off of?

I think the majority of the last two were done in Australia with some stuff shot in England as well. If I remember correctly TPM was done in England. I have no idea about the car though.

Both 2 & 3 were primarily done in Australia, with a few location shoots including Italy and Tunisia. A good friend built R2 and 3PO for both films and was based in Sydney for the entirely of the shoots.

As far as parts of a car F1 car goes, I think they normally make things from the ground up with something like that - but I can check with my friend and get back to you. I know for sure, he doesn't have things like that lying around his studio.

Yes - Ep' 2 and 3 were shot at Fox Studios Sydney Australia. There was a lot of props built for Ep' 2 and not as much on Ep' 3. A lot of sets and props were made from found things but I don't remember a formula one car being used. After we raped, "The Matrix" people wanted to use our leftovers but Lucas Film would rather destroy everything than let them have use our work.

I hope you mean "wrapped" :wacko

I had heard somewhere they had a formula 1 car but I guess I was mistaken. I know Star Wars has sponsored a few before. Red Bull cars I think?
