dont know if anyone already saw this and I m not really into the ep7 stuff right now though.

but I think the details on these are really interesting. I guess these are no licensed helmets, but they seem to me like recasts from the movie because every detail looks right. and because they are not painted, you can see all the details, just have a look at the areas around the stormtroopers visor.

These listings and products are identical to Star Fortress Productions.....

Just made a connection. Everything that's old is new again. Here's some of McQuarrie's concept art for the character that would become Vader...

Slightly different from his other Stormtrooper designs, with features to set the character apart -- tweaked helmet, different colors, a cape worn down over one shoulder and flipped off the other... Think we may have found the inspiration for Captain Phasma?

The designers are really scraping the bottom of the Ralph McQuarrie design book, aren't they? I mean that in the best possible way... I wonder if there will be an RM sketch left that wont' have influenced something in Rebels or the new films. I love the direction the production design guys are going with these.

I know this isn't really a stormtrooper, but I thought I should share an observation I made on the new First Order Tie Pilot. It appears that the thing on the top of the helmet could be some sort of visor or blast shield that swivels down over the pilot's eyes and aligns with the groove on the helmet underneath the eyes. This is just speculation, but it seems plausible as the shape of the visor and the groove on the helmet appear to fit together. Any thoughts? (By the way, I'm loving this new design)

Yeah, I noticed that too and think you very well could be right. I think the new pilots look cool and we also have confirmation that he does have red widow's tears and it isn't just a reflection. If I had to nitpick anything, I think it's the fact that he only has one tube plugged into the helmet. That does bug me a little.

Maybe the single tube has some semi-logical reasoning behind it, like the filters on certain gas masks. Only one side is used at a time, when the filter on one side runs out you can screw in a second on the other side without interrupted breathing. Making a gas mask with breathing filters on both sides also allows the user to shoulder a rifle on either side depending if they are right or left handed.

Maybe the tie fighters have two separate oxygen tanks on board with different mixes (pressurized or pure oxygen depending on if they are flying within a planet's atmosphere or in zero gravity outer space) or something to that effect? Still doesn't quite make sense, but at least it brings some sort of reason behind the decision.

I wish the TIE Pilot helmet had formed the basis of the Stormtrooper lids too. It looks great and more evocative of the OT. I've never come around to liking the ugly duckling troopers :(

Maybe even some sort of head-up display. Seems like it would be pretty neat and rather fitting. (Sorry for the crudity of the drawing.)

Loving that design. It's my favorite so far. This and the resistance helmets. And great find on the visor. Makes sense. :)

Not exactly stormtroopers, but these pictures are just too great to not share:

I don't understand the duck thing people keep referring to when mentioning the new Stormtrooper helmets. And yes, I've seen the stupid meme. I still don't see it. I feel like people are just coming up with anything to bash the new helmets. I do think the new Flametrooper and Snowtrooper helmets look a bit... boring.
