Tupper-troopers?

The helmet is a home run, not sold on the rest of the armor. The chest piece is throwing me off mostly.

Variant Trooper armour? Can be seen in the second and third rows of Troopers, maybe Snowtroopers or something? They seem to have plainer helmets and large backpacks. Backpacks remind me of Flamethrowers....

Those were in the promo art released this morning. Looks like one is the flamethrower trooper an the other is either some sort of heavy gunner or sniper IMO.

Chrome troops look bada$$.
Regular white troopers are most definitely Donald Duck.
Like & understand streamlined progression on trooper outfits, but those are the most fugly Pilot and Snowtrooper outfits.
The Imperial Quartermasters need to be shot: asymmetrical mic tips, one hose connection, duck bills. WTF!?!?!
Thank God we grew up with the Original Trilogy. Even the endless variations of Clones were at least creative.
At least I can save money now not buying/building the New stuff.
So flames are now the weapon of choice, not laser beams. What are we? Empire on a budget? We can't have destructive futuristic scifi ammo (think those Dark Elf grenades in Thor).
Am enjoying all the pics though.

Vortex grenades would indeed be lovely. But in the Star Wars Universe, I don't think they've been able to confine singularities like that.

As for the other, you seem to be missing the blaster rifle and pistol that each standard Stormtrooper is carrying. There are incinerator troopers in Clone Wars, in The Force Unleashed, and now here. Continuity. Some opponents, you need a diffuse weapon that can't be run away from, dodged, blocked, or deflected with a lightsaber. As the F-4 Phantom II proved, just because you've got new weapons doesn't mean you should automatically abandon the old.
