Star Trek Picard Season Three

Let’s cut the Starfleet Academy STD spin off series. And do the Captain of Nine Star Trek: Legacy series.

I signed and contributed to the petition, which already has more than SNW when it was relaunched.
Well, STDs have always been a problem at the Academy. It's sort of an open secret. :p

I agree with the idea of no Starfleet Academy series. I mean, it‘s basically a college, and it’d mostly involve classes. Starfleet Academy is better for an occasional episode, but not a series.

As much as I like the Enterprise D’s retirement at the Fleet Museum, I kinda wish that they had put the old girl back in service with some upgrades (including an extra warp nacelle), considering that they lost a few ships during the Borg’s takeover and have Riker in charge. But, I do hope that Star Trek: Legacy goes forward.

Finally finished and I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't perfect, but good. I thought it was cool that they ended playing poker. The only thing I didn't like, especially if they do a continuation with Seven, is that ship. The captain (Shaw?) said, I think, that it was a science vessel and not heavily armed when they first discovered The Shrike. That ship should not be the Enterprise. The Enterprise should be the flagship, so hopefully they would change that if they did another series.

I call it first..

I agree that the finale felt rushed. After the emotional build up at the end of ep 9 (yes, it got me in the feels too) It was basically the NG crew flying back to earth with no plan. Finding an object in Jupiter and checking it out, with no plan. Beaming onboard and managing to find Jack and the Queen, with no problem. Flying the Enterprise through what would have been an unfeasably large conduit through to the centre, without problem. Just seemed that at any time, the Borg could have blasted the Enterprise out of the sky.
I believe it was explained that Jack Crusher, being integrated into the Borg, was still not fully under the control of the queen. When they saw the possible entry route Picard called it an opportunity. So I think Jack was helping them get in, maybe subconsciously.
Also, didn’t it happen all too quickly. Is interstellar travel now simultaneous between star systems? The crew escape from the Titan and fly to the Fleet Museum, in moments, start up the D, and manage to warp back to earth in minutes. surely the commandeered fleet would have laid waste to the cities of Earth, before the D arrived back.
Travel times in the Star Trek universe have always been inconsistent. They often seem to be able to get back to Earth in the blink of an eye, regardless of where they are in the galaxy. In Star Trek V, they're shown as travelling to the "center of the galaxy" in a matter of hours, when it should've taken decades, based on Star Trek's own theoretical warp speeds. It's all just a means to tell a story and keep dramatic pacing.
and one last gripe. Did Bev really send a coded message to Jean Lucs old comm badge, asking for urgent help! Isn’t this the equivalent of phoning the old Nokia handset stuck in the bottom of a kitchen drawer, hoping someone hears it!!
She said "trust no one," so she didn't want anyone else to be able to intercept her message. There's obviously a risk Picard doesn't hear his com badge, but there could be any number of in-world explanations for how com badges work and how it could alert the possesor of a message. Again, storytelling was the reason - they could've simply had the message come to him on a viewscreen as being encrypted, but they wanted to give the viewers a connection to who was sending it.

I had the impression that the Queen wanted Locutus back, and she was the one who left the door open. As for the comm badge, I'm sure that was just the most nostalgic way of doing it, as well as establishing another hint that the D would be back. There are several of those early on.

[EDIT] And speaking of the comm badge, I noticed it didn't have the thin black stripe along the edges of the silver delta. Amazing the tiny things that can annoy me. I used to have a production-made one, so that kinda jumped right out at me.

Looks quite dark.
I hope Mojo working on the files is a sign that some news of an HD remaster is on the horizon. Fingers crossed.
He's been doing this for a pretty long while now actually. He posts some small examples and he has basically said no one is working on it. It's just a few people on their free time checking out old files, and some times updating the files/textures and what-not.

Like he mentioned the textures used back in the day were all pre-PBR. So if a remaster gets green-lit they will probably redo all the texturing and make them all PBR based.
