But I think the run will be relatively short and have limited ships. Anyone know how to create decals to replace the decals that come on the ships?

There were a number of star fleet vessels within the same class, so why not just buy more of the same class and change the decals...

Comments?

These have been out for a while. The "D" and Reliant are decent. The "A" has a weird angled up saucer that needs to be corrected. I have yet to see the BOP in stores yet. Even though they are touted as "diecast" theirs not much metal in these. Decent for the price though. The saucer on the "D" seperates very nicely. It fits real snug as well.

I think the Johnny Lightning stuff was far superior, they were smaller, but they painted them so much better.

Hot Wheels dropped the ball on these, for the size, they needed quality detailed paint job. And there is no excuse for things so badly out of alignment either. I had them pre-ordered but when I saw them in the stores I cancelled.

If decal sets come out for them, I will reconsider.

There was supposed to be a second set but I have yet to see it. My local Target carried set 1 for a month the it went to the discount end cap. Too bad as I was looking forward to picking up the Enterprise (TOS) and the Narada.

They may not be as fantastic as some of the plastic Japanese models, but I thought the Hot Wheels were OK. I like the larger size. And the D, bare as it is, isn't as annoying as the overwrought plating detail that Corgi put on their version.

The 1:50 is totally made up by the way, most of these ships are to different scales, and I don't think any of them are 1:50. :lol

I have seen ONE BOP.. it was at a Target and I haven't seen it again.

the BOP seems to be a popular ship even among non-trekkies

These are okay, well, all except the refit. I managed to pick-up a BOP, It is by far the superior of the Hot wheels offerings; in large part due to the positionable wings. Unfortunately, it is also the most difficult to find.

How big is that KBOP?

It has a 5 inch wing-span and just over four inches from bow to stern.

Apparently there are supposed to be different "waves" coming out with more ships. I have the:

Reliant
Enterprise (Refit)
Enterprise D
KBOP

No new version Enterprise yet..

The next "wave" is supposed to have the Saratoga and other "battle damaged" Enterprise versions. While they could have done a much better job on these. I still think they are cool. With a little decal magic, you could have a lot more named ships in your fleet.

If these were all diecast, it would be easy to make "chase" versions. But they do have some plastic.

So back on subject,,,, anyone know how to make these decals?

They were at Target yesterday. They are a mix of die cast metal and plastic, and the plastic is too soft........just one big drooping nightmare.
