Star-Lord Costume Suggestions

So with Trepidation I will be starting my next FanExpo costume. I think I am going to try Starlord from the 2008 comic run. Not looking forward to the helmet but some of the other pieces should be simple enough. I have posted some pictures of some of the items I may try to repurpose for this costume...Please let me know what you all think. I am not sure about what to do for the boots or gun yet. Below are my ideas for things to repurpose for this costume.

i suggest a cheap halloween army helmet (reinforced later) instead of a riding helmet, the one you have shown is around 400 dollars

that is an excellent suggestion. Also, it's the perfect time of year for that . Also I wouldn't have bought that specific helmet, just a suggestion on style.
