ST:TWOK Communicator. (the metal one)

Hey gang, I know a lot of folks think it's ugly, but I love props made from found items, and I really want to do the ST:TWOK Communicator. I've searched around the threads here, but only found one that showed where to get the metal box from.

I was wondering what else is needed. If there is any where else to get the metal boxes. (that place wouldn't take any form of payment I could offer.) And, What ever parts, or building tips you can offer.

I know there are some forums for the trek prop folks, but I like it right here at the RPF, plus some of those trek dudes, are a little to "hardcore" for me. :lol (no affence to the trekkers among us. :) )

Thanks
Jason

I've wanted one of these for a long time as well. Rich Coyle is the creator of these - and I love his work.

I have one and love it, I think sporak is doing a run still over on the trekpropzone, he's a member here, maybe a Pm

I have a few kits that I could let go. They are 155.00 and include prewired electronics. It's almost all metal other than the resin knobs and dials.

Thanks guys, but since the boxes themselves are only $10. I was hopping I would be able to put one of these together pretty cheep. It doesn't have to be perfect, or even do anything fancy. I'm just looking for something to set on a self and look purdy.

Nicksdad has them the cheapest I have seen!........all the other parts are the hard to get stuff! :thumbsup

Hi there Jason,
I am doing a few of these currently...
I started out to do a pretty simple one but Rich Coyle contacted me and filled me in on the story behind this prop as well as some details not seen on any other replicas...

My newest version of this prop will have about every feature and be about as close to the real prop as you can get.

I only charge 220.00 for a full buildup finished prop with electronics and engraved parts.

I'll PM you :)

Hahaha, Actually I tend to think of the Star Wars people as the Hardcore ones...
:)

Something has come up, that took the limeted funds I had to do this with , down to about nothing. :( So, I'm out for now, but fell free to keep posting info.

Hey,
Not to hijack but do you offer the dry transfer numbers that go on the top of the black grill part?

I might be able to find one around here somewhere :)

Here's a couple shots of one of my finished units...

My god that is horrendous....yet so appealing because its different than everything else in the Trek era. Almost Steampunk in a way.
