SS Y-Wing Yea the one no one wants to make?

This is actually close to finished, not much of an update
just some chips and detailing on the lower hull....... I
also added the front little clip that mounts in front
of the canopy, and trimmed back the exhaust nozzles
a bit to look a little more accurate.

Just caught up with this build again & man, youv'e been busy Mike.
She's really quite a stunner mate, in all her clothes:lol

Ha, you mentioned the pic in the Cross-Sections book, I forgot it was in there. I find myself looking at the Falcon cross-section from time to time thinking should I put an interior into my build?. Sanity takes over real quick:behave

But imagine if you let yourself be
insane for just the amount of time
to do it...........:lol:thumbsup

Michael, this has gotta be one of your best builds yet. I wish I had the nerve to take a crack at a build like the "Y". Keep up the great work.

Wow it's been a year since I touched this thing...it did actually have a spider
web on it! LOL

I decided to make all the vector ring inner parts from styrene, I am also
going to make the rings from the legs egg bottom section. I have alrady
cut them.

Resin...

Plastic...

I had some Gaps where the T-stock spanned across so i removed
the ribbed detail on each end.

Coolest parts on the Y-Wing if you ask me! LOL

More? please?

LOL......Got a few shots will finish everything up on the rings
Monday and maybe can have it in primer on tues!

I decided to use the fins that stick off the resin ring, I was able to cut them
and reuse them on my plastic ring. I just didn't feel like making 16
of those things! Then I started adding back the chip detail that i am
using evergreen sheet for.....

I accomplished what I wanted today I got everything done
with the vector rings that I wanted to do.

I didn't post these pics last time.......last time I cut
the resin parts with the Exacto this time I used the
jaws of life! LOL Just a little snip and it was done they
made quick work of this!

Ring taped on getting ready to glue it and add the resin
parts. I had on absorber that was missing the top half
I little brass tubing fixed that up.

F-Toys I used as reference for scale ....

I found a ring in my parts box.....the bad news is there was
only one! :( I had to dremel out another one for the other side
....that wasn't fun.......actually it was fun! LOL

I toyed with the idea to make a clear part.......enough that I did
and it came out great., but it looks silly in against the frame work,
to look better they would need to be cut individually.....not happening
plus the studio model didn't have any clear part, one less thing to mask
right? :)

Deep space light test.....
