The easier way would be to color the strands at the beginning, next to the light. The color should carry through.

Wow, great build of my favorite TNG ship. That laser totally makes it too. What did you use for a power supply? That thing is super bright.

Thanks. The power supply is a variable wall wart unit set at 3 volts, the laser power.. The laser itself is a badass unit from China, more powerful and cheaper than the units available in the UK.
