Spray on plastic?

I very recently sculpted a 30 foot tall Gatorade bottle for a client and before I molded it, I hardcoated it with Styrospray. It is a good product. It brushes on good but it also sprays really good too. I used a hopper gun and a gelcoat cup gun with good results. It is self leveling and requires no sanding between coats and can be recoated almost immediately. It is a moisture cure so you need to be careful with the spray equipment and how you clean it.
On foam, it is not completely ridged. It is hard but it does have a slight flex to it. It is a ***** to sand! Also, you need to prime it BEFORE you use any polyester filler putty or it will flake off during sanding.
If you mix up too much, you can put it in a cup or bucket, spray a blanket of nitrogen gas over it and it will still be liquid in the morning!

this may or may not work,

but for a small scale project I guess you could
try getting 2 spray bottles, and put regular 2 part poly-eurethane resin
into each bottle.

then spray a thin coat with one bottle, and spray another thin coat with
the second bottle.

and repeat.

You can get spray-putty, its car body filler in a spray. Comes out light, just the drying time is a bit long so dont start sanding till the next day.

It is a replica of the Nautilus sub scratch built from blueprints, not a kit. I built about 30 of them for the Disneyana collectable convention. Several thousand hand place rivets and one cramped hand.
ohh ok

if you built them then i think I know who you are, or at the very least, who you worked with building em... I thought this looked like the visions in scale piece, but had to make sure :)

Cheers,
Will

Yep. I was with VIS from the beginning to the end. Some good times and lots of stories. I still keep in touch with most everyone. I actually spoke to Gene and Jim yesterday. Do I know you?

Problem is anything with a solvent base will attack the foam. Styrospray works well because it's water based but there's a few similar products about nowadays.
