spray booth extractor question

not really sure if this is the right place for this but i've made myself a paint booth so i can airbrush/spray paint without needing to wear a respirator and well so far i'm not sure its working very well - its a 60/60cm filter and i haven't made a shroud for it yet so that might be the issue but just seems that not much air is moving through it - i'm using a high volume/low pressure dust/chip extractor that i use when i'm doing work on my wood lathe - but i do have some normal vacuums too but they are much more noisy and more suited to shorter term use - should i be using them instead?

any help would be appreciated

punished props has a video on how he made their paint booth. id start there for tips. one thing I do know is that the area behind the filter that connects to your hose and blower must be airtight. all the seams of the booth in that area were covered by gorilla tape in the yt video to allow for proper suction.
