SpiderSparrow's TASM Build (Suit Finished!!! Skateboard Pics! 11/1/12)

Re: SpiderSparrow's TASM Build (MY SUIT ARRIVED! 2nd page Pic Heavy)

Damn bro! That's sick!! Find a way to change the gloves to be more accurate, if that bothers you?

Re: SpiderSparrow's TASM Build (MY SUIT ARRIVED! 2nd page Pic Heavy)

Thanks everyone! I really like how the honeycomb is making the suit look, and even though it's not 3D, it is still slightly raised since it's paint and not dye, and it reflects light differently than the rest of the suit, so it gives it a really cool look.

Thanks man! Yep, it did bother me, I already fixed one glove, just finished it actually. I'll post pics in a bit.

I'm really loving how this suit is starting to look! :D

Re: SpiderSparrow's TASM Build (MY SUIT ARRIVED! 2nd page Pic Heavy)

I still haven't done anymore honeycomb stamping because of the stupid rain... but hopefully it won't rain tomorrow and I can get some more done.

I just finished painting the right glove. It was rather difficult because I had to wear it while I painted it, and since it's the right hand I had to paint with my left hand, haha. But it still turned out pretty good I think. The color doesn't match the rest of the blue on the suit perfectly, but it's very close, and I think that once I do all the black honeycomb over the blue it won't be noticeable that it's different.

I'm about to start working on the leather pads for the palm.

The things your doing with a Zenati is genius, I should be receiving my comic style Zenati within the next 2 weeks and I wanna try and mod the eyes just like you with different lenses but same concept. The only problem is I forgot to ask the to leave the eye holes open :-/

Great build so far, really coming along nicely! Not only have you completely nailed the look of Garfield himself, but you've done some really innovative things with the costume :)

Can't wait to see the finished product ^.^

Holy hell on the gloves and honeycomb bro!
You now have the rights to my zentai method! :thumbsup

I love how everyone tells me I've nailed the Garfield look and I haven't done anything, that's just how I look, haha. I had that hair style before I even knew Andrew Garfield existed. :lol

Thanks bro! I don't think it will really be a problem that you don't have open eye holes, I would just sew around the edge of the eyes with a zigzag stitch, (or use a serger if you have one.) and then cut out the middle, that's basically what they do anyway.
The reason I ordered open eyes is because I thought they would have small eye holes, but the holes are the same size as the lenses would be, so it's really not much different.

Re: SpiderSparrow's TASM Build (MY SUIT ARRIVED! 2nd page Pic Heavy)

Thanks! :D

Just typical acrylic craft paint.

I got a lot of honeycombing done today, I've done all the red on the top half of the suit, now all I have to do is legs and feet, and then I'll start doing the black honeycomb on all the blue.

Also my black puff paint came in the mail today, so I may be able to have this suit finished by the end of the week.

Re: SpiderSparrow's TASM Build (MY SUIT ARRIVED! 2nd page Pic Heavy)

Just finished painting the left glove, this suit is starting to look legit!

I have a question about the puff paint though...
On the neck of the mask it has to stretch all the way around my head and then go back down to the size of my neck. So I'm afraid that when the web lines are puff painted it won't shrink down to my neck properly, because when I stretch it over my head all the puff paint around the neck is going to stretch out.

Anyone who has a puff painted suit already please help me out on this matter!
Thanks :D

This suit is looking great!! A lot of dedicated hard work, that's for sure!!

I don't know if this would work, but if you have some extra fabric to experiment with, try stretching it to the max it needs to go then applying the puffy paint while it is stretched--probably in a thinner line than it needs to be if it were not stretched--see what happens when the paint is dry and you release the stretch....don't know how the puff paint will react condensed. It might just all ball up, but it might work?!
