I would love to see that. With the graphics technology today, that's definitely possible. But... unfortunately everyone's too caught up with The Amazing Spider-Man (which is still great).

But I'm a huge fan of the 2099 storyline, and a movie version could be absolutely astounding

Not to poke fun, but that kinda goes without saying these days.:lol

I wouldn't want to see a live action movie but i'd love an animated movie in the style of Tron Uprising. Hell, Uprising practically IS Spiderman 2099.

Huh ? I kinda fail to see your point. Uprising doesn't share much with SM 2099. :D

SM : Shattered Dimensions gave me a better idea of this universe adapted into something more detailled than the comic book. In fact, I found SM 2099 to share a lot with the Batman Beyond aesthetics and settings; And taking verticality ( huge buildings creating vast perspective lines ) into account for the way it is filmed, it could make awesome shots on a cinema screen.

Still, I think 2099 suffers the same illness than Beyond : The futuristique environment, that would eat up a LOT of cash to do it right. That's probably why they don't want to do it, in lieue of a modern background as in the Raimi and Webb movies...

P.S : Love the Shattered Dimensions suit, with the electronic circuitry glowing on the suit. Really badass. :)

I was going to say the shattered dimensions game did a good job showing him and I love that they got all the various voice actors from the shows together to play the various spidey versions. Yeah the futuristic settings wouldn't get much love from Marvel other than maybe in a cartoon form and frankly they're animation cant' hold up against DC/WB.

When I compared it to Uprising I think I was feeling the futuristic cityscape, the lone hero fighting the all controlling establishment in the cool suit.

Maybe that was a bad example. But the animation I can definitely see working for SM 2099 movie.

Man, what I wouldn't give to see a Batman Beyond and Spiderman 2099 film done right. Shattered dimensions was awesome to me, although my six year old beat the game in a week.
