Spawn 138 resin figure from Comic cover art

For lack of knowing a better place to post I'm going to post this here.

It's 2 weeks before I move on from working at McFarlane Toys. I thought I would share some pics of a few things I worked on. I couldn't really mention where I worked before for understandable reasons. :rolleyes

This recently released resin figure is styled after the cover art of Spawn issue 138. This is not a fan made resin but rather made by Mcfarlane. I fabricated the gun as well as the gun belt. Our talented mold shop made the prototype castings and the paint department did their wonderful part as well.

Below is the cover. When seeing the artwork in person you can see the detail but in this image it is dark. I remember pointing out on the cover art that the barrels are reeeally skinny and the bullets don't look like they would fit through. They like things to be accurate so I said I wanted to make the barrels fatter so it would make a little more sense.

I love some of the stuff you guys put out. I have the spawn with garbage throne an absolutely love it. Don't know if you had anything to do with that or not though.

That was one I did not work on as it was before my time. Is that a toy version you are talking about? You may be interested to know that there is talk of a LARGE resin that may be done for that figure.

holy crap! I would love a larger version of that. It's such a beautiful sculpt.

Seeing what you have been working on is very cool. How is mcfarlane in person? I saw him at comic-con in '07, looked kinda douchey.

Yeah, he was super tan and wearing flip flops at comic-con, haha. i always pictured that place as being bigger. I remember buying my first spawn toy in '94. How things have changed since then.

i LOVED spawn (comic book series) when it was a love story. Spawn trying to win Wanda back.

After Capullo left I got into Medina's art, but after Angel left, I stopped buying the book... *sigh* a Capullo Spawn pin up is all my wife's collection is lacking. But she has some awesome Spawn commissioned art !!

Have half a garage full of toys!

Used to shop at McFarlane's comic shop up here in Puyallup, Wa. until it closed down years ago.

The statues look great!

The last Spawn action figs I consciously bought were the Manga Spawn and the Mandarin Spawn, I love both designs, especially the Mandarin Spawn, they were always very well done, sculptwise.

The statue is another excellent example for freat work on a sculpt and attention to detail !

I used to be a Spawn fanatic and have a TON of figures MIB all the way back to the original stuff. Too bad it's all collecting dust in my basement.

I would imagine working at MF toys must have been anything but boring!

Do you know if there are any plans for a second movie? I haven't followed Spawn in some time so forgive my ignorance.

It's been a great experience. I am most fortunate to have been able to get in.

As far as a movie I heard some talk back in or around fall/winter of 2008 about a second movie but nothing since.

love ther stuff ,especially the military line ,i have half a dozen on display

Have you seen the figure who looks likes a real life "Snake Eyes":ninja? I did some work on that one. We started doing series 2 for Call of Duty but like series 2 of the HALO vehicles they got cancelled since not enough people bought series one. I made a spiffy Thompson sidebolt...it was awesome putting that scale of gun on the milling machine. There was going to be a WWII soviet soldier as well that I was sooo looking forward to. But like I said, series 2 got cancelled.

Another great piece, you are amazingly talented. Did you happen to do the Spawn figure that was used in Die Hard 4?..I think it was a Spawn figure he breaks while in the kids room
