I reinforced the inside corners by gluing in small triangle section beads, when the glue had set the screws came out so i could router the edges round.
the baking tray ended up inside on mine as the lip made it to big (so really you need to make the cutout measurements a little smaller).

I'm going to get to work on the box straight away, what do you think its made of ?, I'm thinking plywood.
Need a better pic of the writing on the inside of the door. ;)

This droid is actually an R2 Builders droid.

Thanks for the kind words peoples, these things take such a long time to make I'm glad they are creating a bit of interest still.

I'd love to see people who aren't experienced with scratchbuilding have a go at building a gonk there really isnt much too it, why start with something complex if the gonks can look good and you can put stuff in them if you want like mine.

In answer to you hansolo2504 they are more on permanent loan to him until I can find someone who might be interested in molding and casting them so there can be more cloned, more robots...more robots...more robots.

And Paul6700 i think you missed my joke, I'll try to be funnier in future. (love treadwell btw) :)

Why do you say that?

It was confirmed over at the yahoo group for the R2 Builders or on astromech.net. I can't remember which, there are two R2 Builders working on Episode 7.

Spacebob, you are totally right. I completely missed the joke. I can only read so many words in one post.

Great droids ... and when you start making jokes ... I need an interpretor preferably good at human-cyborg relations, fluidly speaking Bocce and perhaps 6 million other binary languages as well as being programmed for over thirty secondary functions ;)

Have you asked around in the junkyard/wtb section? Or possibly post over at white whitearmor or the 501st forum, or even ask at the shed of glittering delight on fb, it's an England based prop group.
