Solo's Greedo Killer (modified DL-44) - Finished Blaster

Re: Solo's Greedo Killer (modified DL-44) - My ongoing project

I haven't started machining the scope mount yet. I've never done that type of work before so I'm kinda putting it off while I do research, gather supplies and equipment, and build up the nerve. I'll post an update when I actually get anything done. I know about the Corellian Exports website, but I can't find them on ebay, what's the name of their store there?

How are you planning to fit the flash hider to the barrel? That's one thing I haven't yet worked out how I want to do on my build.

Thanks for clearing that out. The heat sink is from Corellian exports on ebay. They also have a website, too. The heat sink is a great machined piece, but not cheap at all. Have u completed your scope mount yet?

Still waiting for mine to receive. It'll came in with the flash hider. I also won an auction for scope mount rings. ScottJua was again so kind to help me in getting the correct parts.:thumbsup

Re: Solo's Greedo Killer (modified DL-44) - My ongoing project

Definitely looks nice so far. Are you planning on redoing the finish on the Denix as well? :thumbsup (I also find it kinda humorous that Solo stated that he illegally modified his blaster to make it easier to draw, fire, and etc, when in the movie the Greedo Killer was so hard to draw from its holster that it had to have its flash suppresser removed to film the Cantina scene. That always makes me chuckle.) :D Keep us updated with more pics!

The finish will stay at the present state. I like it the way it is. Maybe some aging here and there. I'm going to upload some new pics today of the work I've done.
You're right with the suppressor :) but u don't see the Blaster without it. And the rest is history or lore:)) like some of the wild west gunfighter storys.

It must be the same name as on the website. Maybe they haven't anything up at the time.
I was getting an adapter for the barrel and hider. But I couldn't use that because modern Denix Mauser seems to have a more solid barrel. So I only removed the gun tip (the tip to aim) and used a vintage rubber ring which I've painted black. It worked very well and is a very solid combination. And, I don't had to remove a whole part of the barrel, which leaves the Mauser at the original shape.

re-blackened the scope front:

drilling for the mount and fixing in place:

and the mounting of the M3 flash hider:

Meanwhile the glueing of the heat sink is torturing me a bit;)
After that I'm going to remove the bolt where the hammer slams. And I'm waiting for the scope rings to receive.

I've finished the modified DL-44. The scope mount rings went in today and I've added them exactly. Again thumbs up to ScottJua. The scope mount fits the Weaver rings P E R F E C T L Y. That's awesome.
Finished. If u want to follow the built just scroll down the thread. Click on pics to view them larger.

Whoo hoo! Too awesome man!

Looks beautiful! So how many times have you drawn on yourself in the mirror? Solo style...

That's the best compliment ever :) Thanks a lot Scott.
Hehe, I've pointed it too often I would suggest :lol

Any winks on what I've probably missed or what I should add to it?

haha, I admit to full nerd in the mirror too.

As for details, there's the little M2 bolt in the grill and magwell, I always ignore. That's the final detail I think. That and weathering the mount and scope. Not too much on the prop really. You can go nuts and re-shape the denix trigger. It makes a world of difference.

Looks great.

I've been collecting parts over the last few months. I have a Denix on the way. Once I have it, all I need is a scope mount and muzzle adapter. I will probably be referring back to this thread and others like it for tips.

I'll do some research on that and will see what I can add:)

Well done Andy! Markus

Thank you Markus. :thumbsup Your and Scotts collection were my inspirations.

Thanks for the kind words. Yep, be sure to came back:)there are so many great threads currently.:thumbsup

Awesome looking blaster ! Great to see it finished, fantastic job.

:thumbsup Thanks a lot James. It took a while but every project like this is very entertaining to me:) Otherwise the waiting time to get the parts is simply a pain.

Thank you Trilogy and BM:)
Even if it is only a Denix base, I really like it a lot. It was the very first Blaster prop I built. Indeed it is a special one to me:love

The blaster looks great!

I'm interested in getting into making a Greedo Killer, have the Denix and the flash hider. Going a piece at a time.

Wouldn't happen to know where I could snag a heat sink would ya? Looking to find a metal one. (or make if I have to)

Hi. Use the search function as there is a run ongoing in making an accurate version of the heat sink.
