There is a Lando Falcon metal model kit. It's actually pretty decent, wasn't too hard to fold and assemble, and looks pretty good. My only gripe about it is that it was pre-painted, whereas every other metal model I've done is high polished steel. So it makes my Slave I look unfinished.

I can take pics in the morning if you're interested in seeing it.

Yes please. That would be great.

Thanks

Great model. Thanks for posting. I am hoping for something bigger though. Bigger is nearly always better.

Thanks again.

It's a Facebook video, right click on the little square image and open in a new tab.
Doesn’t work in Tapatalk. :-\ Just saying.

I watched a little on Netflix again. I had fun in the theater, but in my home theater the seams and glue bulges showed. Having to explain everything (the dice, the gun, losing the “escape pod,” the game where he won the ship) wore thin. Why don’t these filmmakers give us credit for having imagination? Everything does not need to be explained to us, we don’t need all the dots connected. **** films that insist on doing that.

The very unusual cinematography and color scheme was interesting, but at times made it unwatchable.

The whole Lando-droid thing was a huge mistake. Like silly fan fiction BS. Asks the question, why doesn’t Han have a gf in AHN (she was cut out of the film IIRC)? Because he made “a few special modifications” to the Falcon which he doesn’t describe and probably shouldn’t. “Y’hear me, baby, hold together.” Ick.

Watching Maul ignite his light saber in a holo communication made me laugh in the theater; at home I just groaned. It was stoopid.

I binge watched the SW: Rebels series and found it better and more interesting. Crai crai KK made a huge mistake by not promoting and utilizing Dave Filoni to head up the story group. In fact, he should be the creative lead while she just handles the business end. I’m guessing KK fancies herself the new “Lucas” and wants to sail this franchise into the rocks on her own.

Had the dice even EXISTED prior to Last Jedi? I don't remember ever having seen them before, so I imagine they got added into Solo, to try and make them showing up in last jedi make more sense, lol.

coming into this late but wanted to voice my vote that I loved the film. simple, fun, outer rim adventure, Lando and Chewie stole the show! I saw it 5 times at the theater upon release and now own it on bluray. I had no issues with it. I was not thrilled with Woody Harrelson being in it (although he is a fine actor) but in the end he ended up being a great character and more Han Solo than Han. LOL! Donald Glover nailed it. I was completely spoiler free on 99% so When Enfys removed her helmet I immediately gasped, jaw dropped and fell in love! she kicked butt! then my jaw dropped again on the Crimson Dawn reveal of Maul... loved that!

Too bad people didnt have more of an open mind and was pleasantly surprised seeing this when it was in the theaters. We might be looking forward to an Obi-wan movie or a sequel to this one right now if they had.

I thought it was an excellent film and enjoyed the ride immensely.

Haven't read all the other pages, but I'm gonna say I hated it. I think it's absolutely the worst Star Wars movie they've ever made; which says a lot, considering how bad Phantom Menace was.

When I was 11 years old, I saw the original Star Wars in the theaters the first weekend it came out. I was completely blown away by it, and mesmerized by all the characters and costumes. Han, of course, was instantly iconic. So much so, that I wanted to dress up like him for Halloween that year (In my 11 year old mind, I was close. Looking back though, I used part of a vacuum cleaner nozzle as my blaster...so probably not).

For people like me, we waited over 40 years to watch a movie about one of the most charismatic characters in movie history. I wanted to find out exactly what the Kessel Run was all about, and find out more about Han's pirating days. The disappointment came as soon as Han and Chewie leave their cell, and everything that happened afterward. The speeder he and Emilia Clark used in the opening scenes was a bit of a let down, but I was willing to give that a pass; since this was supposed to be way before ANH. The muddy battle with the stormtroopers gave me some hope things would improve, but that was about the only scene that "felt" like it was part of a Star Wars movie.

The female social justice warrior droid was annoying and about as corny as Jar Jar Binks was, and Donald Glover, in my opinion, didn't have anywhere near the charisma Billy Dee Williams had. The plot and storytelling was very disjointed as well. When it came to the Kessel Run; I didn't even know that was happening. I mean...the ONLY person who even paid any attention to the 12 parsecs, was Han! No one else gave a crap about it, yet it's supposed to be legendary. Huge disappointment there.

As far as Emilia Clarke goes; I love her in Game of Thrones. In this movie though, she just seemed to stand around a lot with a stupid smile on her face. And then at the end... WHOA!... plot twist!...She's been playing everybody. Who didn't see that coming?? It was so predictably lame. The whole Darth Maul thing didn't add anything to the story either.

As far as I'm concerned, Ron Howard and Disney blew a golden opportunity to tell Solo's story. They dropped the ball though. I loved Rogue One, because it reminded me of watching ANH that very first time. The effects, the costumes, the story, and even the occasional humor totally was in line with ANH and TESB. The other movies felt more like they were produced to draw kids in and market new toys, backpacks, clothing, etc.

I do hope they continue making more movies based on the Star Wars universe, but I hope they stick with directors like Gareth Edwards, who nailed the look and mood of the original films.

I think the biggest mistake people made when going into this movie was expecting it to provide them with the exact same experience they had when seeing the OT as a child. I liked it because it was its own movie while providing some back story to the character with nice little nods to the OT throughout. And I have to completely disagree with not thinking Glover did a good job here. Excellent stand alone performance with just enough nods to Billy Dee to make it respectful to the character without making it a "caricature" performance.

On that note, I bet dollars to donuts (Mmmmmm donuts!) that if a lot of people got what they think they wanted and had the movie try and replicate the performances of the original actors they'd be here right now complaining about how cartoonish and un-natural it all felt.

Weeeell to be fair, it wasn't fans that would be responsible for carrying the movie. If not enough people went to warrant another movie, not enough people went.

I think it was marketed poorly. Their choice of actor wasn't terribly appealing. I was fine with it, and it's in my movie collection. And it was on my weekly Star Wars movie run to Christmas.

Honestly, as much as they wanted to let the actor make Han his own, he didn't have the same gravitas the Ford had. And without that, he didn't have a hope in hell to make it his own. So, not HAVING that, they should have made Han be like Harrison Ford's Han. Which means acting like Harrison Ford acting as Han. And I don't know why people dump on stuff like that. You literally have to be a damned fine actor to mimic a popular actor and make it believable. Then make it yours.

Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a dump on Solo post. I have plenty of dislikes for it, but overall, enjoyed it more than Rogue One, because R1 just made it too damned dramatic. I don't watch Star Wars for real life for ******'s sake.

I have no response to your post... I just noticed your avatar image. What is that from? I dig it.

Don’t be so sure. I went in hoping to just plain have fun, and I did for the most part. It was funny, lots of action, etc. In its way it had the ingredients that the original film had, and the storytelling was in the same lighthearted vein.

But someone goofed by thinking that a dark, gritty Rogue One style visual palette was the correct choice. Nope.

My quibbles are that they felt the need to shoehorn in lots of “origin story” details that the film succeeded without. “Fan service.” Ooh, that’s where he got the gun, ooh, that’s where the M. Falcon got its navicomputer,.... These were a grating distraction on the second viewing. But the film is still “fun.”

I only ever watched it at home, and my recollection was not that the film was particularly dark. Granted, I'm usually watching on a plasma with the "THX Bright Room" setting on, but it seemed about normal to me. Was this something that people have noticed at home as well?
