Diablo III Barbarian
Last spring when I was doing my - Diablo mixed Thief- Hunter costume I find out about this material called Worbla and I started to do more googling about it. I wanted to try it so I ordered one 1m x1,5m piece of it.
I wanted to use it to make an armor for myself, but firstly I didn’t know what kind of armor I would want. Two of my favourite games are Skyrim and Diablo so I mainly focused of these game characters. Anyway a lot of thinking and as a result I decided to make barbarian female costume. I took a lot of inspiration on other cosplayers barbarian costumes. I just made few changes here and there so that it would fit for me!
This is my first armor costume and my first Worbla costume! It took like a month for me to do this ( as usual .. a day job ruins all the fun and I had only few hours / day time to build it )
So here it is
Quick walkthru
Armor: First I made patterns of myself ( using masking tape and plastic warp ) and then I used those to make worbla armor parts. This part wasn’t as hard as a thought it would be. Worbla is very easy to handle and if you mess up you can just heat it again since it is reusable. Only that my fingers started to get numb for all the heat
But it’s a small price for what you can do with it!
After I had done all the decoration I primed all parts with wood glue so that the surface would be smooth.

Sword: I decided to make the sword 130cm long ( fits for my length) . First I drawed model of it and then I used wood stick, corrugated cardboard and masking tape to make a model inside of the expanding foam. Foam was squeezed around the stick and after it was dried I carved all the extra foam off. I used smoothing plaster to finish the surface. Then I just added few details with fun foam + worbla and then the sword was ready to paint.

I painted all the armor parts and the sword with black spray-color and finally colored them with acrylic paints! I used few different colour to make them look more real.

After painting I added some fur the finalize the look!

Under the armor-parts there are some velcro and strings so that everything will hold together.
Skirt and all the fabric-parts: For the skirt I didn’t make any pattern or anything I just started to make it. I cutted the orange cotton fabric and colored it a little bit with brown acrylic color and then just started to fit it on. Some sewing here and there so that it would fit for me perfectly. After that I made triangle-shape pieces of the fur and then just started to add those around me.
I finalize the skirt part with some worbla made skulls and chains aaaand leather.
Under the armor there are just dark brown tricot parts : leg socks, arm socks and body.
Wig I bought from Ebay, but I had to fix it to fit the look!

Materials:
Worbla ( thin thermoplastic which you can shape when you heat it)
Eva foam
Fun foam
Wood clue
Acrylic paints
Fur ( few different colors)
Cotton fabric ( orange parts)
Leather
Hot clue
Old shoes
Wood stick ( sword)
Expanding foam ( sword)
Spray- color ( just some basic black)
Corrugated cardboard (sword)
Masking tape
Smoothing plaster
Velcro
Tricot ( dark brown )
Plastic wrap
I will add the proof pic and the gallery pic soon! ( just finished the costume last night)
