SMT B-wing fighter, How big was it?

It was approximately 16" long when built. I have one but havnt got around to building it yet.

Yeah, it was about 7" too short ( i think) about 23" long. that would be cool to have one but damn, where would i put it??

Lynn, the one from SMT is at least 16" long when built and it is 1/48 scale, same as the x-wing (ertl) and the y-wing (SMT) and the ertl tie fighters (not the DV fighter)
It is well worth the money the orders are low so go for it.

Anybody here got one built to show??
I've seen them on the old SMT site and now on from Blue Moon, but what about anyone here?

Lynn

looks great to me bobby. i remember seeing that on your site quite a few years ago and always wanted one, now I got one.

I got a question, should I build my limited edition #166/500 B-wing?
The majority will tell, if I should.

Well its a kit, cant let the poor bugger suffer in a dark lonely box A, i say build him and let him breath some :)

Why wouldn't you? It is a pretty low existance for a model to be sitting in a box in a closet because someone may think it is worth more because of a # placed on it and not being enjoyed in it's full built glory on a shelf for all to see.

People put too much precieved value in a #, all in all it dosn't mean a thing.

I built my #46 of 100 F&M New BSG Viper SS sized model.

I say build it.

Okay the majority won :D The B-wing is in primer, I wonder what color should it be painted? I`m thinking a light aircraft grey? or white?
if i paint it white then the decals will show up better, (dragon decal)
The rebellion only used them just after the empire strikes back and then during ROTJ, so what color??
Lynn, I`m sorry i didnt mean to hijack your thread.. do you want me to start another one??
I got the AT-AT today, man its huge for a resin kit.A few things broke off like two feet but thats okay she needsa a redo anyways THANKS.

Here is an update on the B-wing buildup.
To save room on my shelf, i decieded on posing the fighter at an angle and have it banking to one side, that should show a little action instead of the static sideways or up postion, i will also pose the cockpit to simulate it in its upside right position.

Here's a few pics of my B wing buildup, when it was the SMT kit. It's has a vac form main blade, so it needed a bit of re-inforcement inside before the halves were stuck together.
I've put LEDS in the engines, cockpit and headlights.

Damn straight it is. Mine is a later version i do believe, the engines scoop is solid and may have to replace it and, my guns on he s-foils are incomeplete, they do not have the end parts like yours or simply they have been lost. but i will scratchbuild them, and will post pics soon.

Id just love a studio version of this kit, i thought long and hard on the re run, but not being studio i couldnt justify the price, but that said, shes a looker Apohis :)
