That's all I've ever used. Hard to believe the "chemist" (I guess you mean a drug store like Walgreens or CVS) would be out of something like this. Good hunting.

Rubbing alcohol also called isoprophyl alcohol usually 70% solution. used for first aid applications, makeup removal etc.Works great, inexpensive. $1 a pint?

90% Alcohol or better can erroded skin layers so stay with the 70% :D

IIRC a Brit I know in the spfx business called it surgical spirits or surgical alcohol.

Ought to be available in any store selling cosmetis and toiletries.

Rubbing alcohol works well, but for a more aggressive smoother, or if you're trying to bond fresh Sculpey to already baked Sculpy, Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly works wonders. You can use your fingers or a bit on a Q-Tip. But go easy. A little goes a long way. For minor or delicate smoothing, I'd stick with the alcohol.

Hey Guys thx heaps, Yeah I thoughtit a bit strange the chemist (drug store) didnt have any, think Ill take a drive around and see what I come up with. vaseline hmm Id be worried doing this as Im gonna mould it with fibreglass directly onto the surface so bit worried it might affect the curing of the resin. Okkies a driving I shall go. thx again guys , I just love this place :)

A drop of baby oil rubbed on thin over baked sculpy allows you to ad more clay as well.
