What material was used for the actual dagger? I've always wanted to try something like this but I never know where to start. & how do you paint it? Sorry for all the questions

questions are why this website exist so dont worry. The materiel is MDF (medium/micro density fiberboard ) I got a 1/2" x 1' x 5' board from home depot for less than $10.
I used a selection of rasps and files to shape it. (large toothed ones for removing lots of material and fine tooth for smoothing it out ).
I clamped the piece in a vice and worked on each side until it looked right.

For painting i coated the piece in black (spray paint ).
Then used a sponge brush to lay different layers of green (Acrylic).
Then I put on a few wash coats of brown (paint mixed with water).
final brushed some silver scuffs on the high areas (silver spray paint on a dry stiff brush )
