Because I think any used helmet would have rust from fingerprints in the normal handling locations and where moisture would collect.

I'd definitely go for rust, especially since the rest of the helm is bone. Bone tends to hold onto moisture, so all that time in the snows fighting Draugr and ice trolls would probably rust the metal parts around where they meet the bone. There'd probably be some around the rivets too.

Yeah i would do a little rust. But otherwise, that is totally drool worthy. Really nice work. And thanks for the tut on the way you painted the horns. SO looking forward to the JY thread..

Looks great, I love seeing stuff from Skyrim made real. I wouldn't do too bright a red rust, since rust gets darker with age and if I remember right the jagged crown is supposed to be hundreds of years old. Look online for images of antique medieval weapons and armor for references and you'll see most of the rust has turned black. This sword is a good example.

This one is pretty much cooked! Added rust and went over and detailed the paint. Thanks for the support and positive comments everyone

Took some better photos!! I will post some junkyard info soon, im going to throw the first build up on ebay but i'm definitely looking to sell some casting or finished helmets soon.
