My 8 year old daughter wanted to be her favorite Skylander for Halloween this year, but the off-the-shelf costumes are just too cheap looking, and they don't have the one she wants. I decided to make her costume myself. I don't want it covering her whole face, so I decided to make it like a helmet. You can see that she is really excited.
Here is the inspiration figure from the game:
I purchased a cheap-o $3.99 children's race car helmet as the base, and sculpted the shape using Super Sculpey. The large horns are from a viking helmet and the eyes are plastic door stops.
I've been sanding it and using bondo to smooth it out and fill the cracks. I'd like to cast it when I'm done and use it as base for a different character as all the Skylander dragons have a similar facial structure.
I have a couple water bottles to use as the oxygen tanks, and the armor will be some cheap costume armor from the Halloween shop, painted gold.
The rest of the pictures show my progress so far.
