I have a resin piece that I wanted to weather to look like it has a grease stained 'used every day in the shop' look. Does anyone have any good techniqies for achieveing that look? (without using real grease :ninja)

I have used gloss brown car paints drybrushed and dabbed on with a cloth before with good effects on some of my blasters for an oily look . I have also seen people using coloured varnish ( used on wood etc) but this does takes ages to dry.

I used brown shoe polish before to simulate something similar. Very light app's in streaks then let sit and then smooth out with a paper towel.

In line with the varnish thing, you could use shellac mixed with any alcohol based dye you like. Thinned down with alcohol, it dries extremely fast allowing multiple coats for depth. You can even add grit for texture between coats. I mix up a fresh batch using flake and denatured alcohol ever time I use it, and I use it a lot in my woodworking.
