Sidewalker's Skyrim Costume and Props

Hey everyone, I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I thought it's about time I shared some of my recent work with you guys. For Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo last April my girlfriend and I made Skyrim costumes. I made Dovahkiin, and she made Serana from the Dawnguard expansion.

I made about 95% of my costume from scratch. Aside from my Jedi boots (which I added new spats and shin armour to) and a rubber practice sword, I made it all myself. I used several grades of leather for the shirt, Spartan-like briefs, and various straps and belts, as well as rabbit fur and sheepskin for the furry bits. The gauntlets and greaves are sintra, as are all the detail bits (shoulder plate, chest and belt details).

My pride and joy of the costume is the Iron Helmet. This was my first foray into molding and casting. I had created the master using a pepakura file I found, and after a whole lot of fibreglass, bondo, and primer, I learned a whole lot about Rebound, Plasti-paste, and Smoothcast. I definitely have a ways to go to refine my techniques, but I'm getting there.

My latest project has been the Elven Dagger. My girlfriend wanted one for her Serana costume, so she gets what she wants.

Another fine addition to my Skyrim collection is the Dragon Priest mask, made by my friend ParadoxDJ (not sure if he's on the RPF). I still need to paint it, put it on a foam head, and add a hood, but it'll look great next to my Iron helmet on the shelf.
