Sideshow - Movie THOR hammer

And is it just me, or do the recessed details on the head look too soft?

Which area do you mean? The celtic type pattern on the edges/sides?

They certainly seem faint on some of them, i'm happy with mine if i'm being truly honest, it's probably the only licensed version of this hammer (thor movie not avengers) that we'll get, plus i like the weight it has

Although i will agree that the handle needed more work, it really did, it's not quite the right colour and the stripes are faint, that can be fixed i guess (shouldn't have to though)

Looks awesome with Chris' shield

Yea, I completely agree. The handle totally lets it down, the silvere parts on the handle that i had hoped were going to be metla spacers are actually just painted on :( I'm so tempted to have a go at trying to make it to how it really should be. Also some of the grooving on the actual hammerhead is a little rough, the lines arnt quite crisp. All in all it's not a bad display piece, from a short distance it looks very impressive, but i feel they should have put a bit more effort into it.

It's such a shame because they made small mistakes that are really inexcusable. This could have been so awesome. Sorry to hear that this didn't pan out for you guys.

Do we have anyone here on the RPF that can make a more accurate handle?
The handle DOES screw right off, so I figured a higher quality replacement handle will make this much better, though you really can't correct the barely-raised tribal details.

Bump for my previous question.
Also, can anyone say what care instructions should be used if you've wiped off the grease?

A new handle could easily be made. In less than an hour I made one for my Disguise hammer. More time and care would produce an even better result. I'm sure someone out there could get the job done.

It's an old post but I'd still like to add that I have a Museum Replicas Thor Hammer and it is RUBBISH. The detail lines along the side are wonky and overlapping, the detailing has been sanded smooth in some areas and the paint application on the handle is shocking.

really gutted with my piece. I got a $12 plastic one that has better detailing :(

I'm going to look into getting a fan-made replica in the near future.
