Sideshow Kong Armature delivered at last

Looks like the long, long wait was worth it.

Thanks for the pics Chris. :)

edited thread title.

I hemmed and hawed about this until it was no longer available. Maybe I'll pick one up second hand one day.

Hey Spheric Thor,

Did you have to tighten up the screws so the armature would be poseable or at least remain in the pose? Also, did you have an oily/brownish residue all over the armature when you removed it from the plastic bag? Thanks....

God Bless,

GraFX Boy

Yes, you have to tighten up the various screws. I started with the legs, so I could attach the base. Then worked my way up the torso to the head. After that then I would loosen screws a little to move the armature into the position I wanted. There is a brownish slightly oily color to parts of the armture to simulate an aged effect.

Yes, the head is removable. It slide on a post and secured by a screw. You can see the screw in the head shot picture I posted.

holy wtf on a stick...

that is the coolest prop replica hands down ever (and all i collect/obsess about is SW stuff.)

dear god.

how much would that have to cost??? :cry

i mean the armature is awesome, but the first thing i thought was... if i had the money id buy it and send it to wampa for a makeover. :love

Is Kong movable from the waist down?

It was mentioned by Bob Burns that it may not be, I was wondering how they did it finally.

How heavy is he?

The armature weighs 8.5 lbs off the base. The hips, knees and ankles are all movable.
[/b]

I just got my FedEx shipping notice and it says it weighs 24 lbs...

So the base must weigh atleast 10-15 lbs by it self...??... :confused

This may have been answered before, but is the armature metal?

At 8.5 lbs. for just the armature itself, I don't think it is plastic.. ;)
