I posted this over at the Aliens Legacy forum a couple a weeks ago but I thought I would let the RPF checkout this bad boy and give Matsucorp some public praise . I have been collecting the parts for this thing for almost 5 years now. When I had everything, I sent them to Matt (Matsucorp) to do his magic. As you can see the results were incredible. Matt did an amazing job of realizing my dream of an all black Pulse Rifle as seen at the end of 'Alien3' carried by the Weyland-Yutani commandos. Much better then my SD in many ways. :thumbsup

The Specs....

SD Parts - Receiver, barrel, grenade launcher block.
Matsucorp Parts - Shroud Kit, vent, stock, grip, caseless ammo.
Real Parts - Litton M845 Nightvison scope, Demilled 870, Thompson grip frame, Thompson bolt, Thompson 20 round mag, Spas cage and pump handle.
Mnoble2 - Black sling (See Matt...it's actually on the gun. :)
Lawgiver - Aluminum clip bottoms.

On to the pics! :)

DAYUM that's nice. There is something about this gun that gets me all wobbly-kneed :)

Matt does GREAT work.

Nice. How long did it take for Matt to assemble?
[/b]

Don't answer that GB......:lol

It took a while but if I had to do another it wouldn't take as long.
The "problem" that most of us face as prob builders is that we do it on the side since most of us have day jobs. (My own personal string of bad luck notwithstanding )
But, if I had to guess, if I worked on it full time, had no other projects to work on, and accounted for at least one trip to the machine shop for a days worth of work, I could do one in a little over a week. But that's a pipe dream...

Anyway thnks for the praise guys and GB those pix are just awesome.

Cheers.

Matt

Nice work Matt.

I like the variation of the gun you chose to make.

Now I'd like to see a photo of you holding one PR in each hand.
(hard enough to hold one w/ 2 hands, but then I'm (mostly) a desk-jockey)

Well, if the price is right... :love :)

"WOW." Few questions. Why no round counter on the side of the magazine well? Lack of room? How about some better pics of the caseless ammo, and the magazine full of it?

Thanks.

Jay

I am so awed. I hate to think how much work you both must have put in tracking things down and putting them together. What does "SD" stand for? Is SD a gun or a prop maker?

I do have to wonder why SpecOps forces would want a firearm with a glowing display on the side. :lol

The black PR's on 'Alien3' did not have counters, plus I think it looks much more realistic without the "I'm over here, shoot me." blinking red numbers.

SD Studios produced a limited number of Pulse Rifles back in the mid 90's. They were made using the same parts as the original hero rifles seen on screen in 'Aliens'. Many consider them the holy grail of replica weapons.

Exactly. :)

(Looking at the magazine pic) Does it shoot :confused :eek ?.?. I'm still baffled about how they were able to get a prop gun made out of parts taken from several other guns to shoot. Would a functional and efficient PR be possible for the military in real life? Sorry for my EXTREME noobiness, I just would like to know the facts and details on this gun.

Great gun BTW ;) .
