Show Off Thread: Lifesized CAD BANE bust

Almost makes me want to personally tackle this hat for you, just to better see it come to life. :angel

It wouldn't even need to be done in a thick leather, a think leather would work just fine. Stretched taught & heated over a shape would make it nice stiff & sturdy, much like my Hatter hat.
Hey Scott, where did that image you posted come from? Is that some sort of LFL display or something?

Toby - I found the photo just by doing a Google search on “Cad Bane Hat”. It shows up about the second page and is from a My Space account. The picture looks to be of someone’s costume, but there is no real description. Nice job on the hat whoever put it together though. I was hoping someone out here might recognize it and chime in with more details.

Toby...if you could make the hats for me, I'd probably be able to buy 20 or 30 from you, and make it work...I agree with everyone, the hat needs to be improved, but it was the first try...I was thinking a wire around the brim, and wire around the middle of hat, with 4 wires connecting them, and shorting hat too...I dont think this hat exists in the real world does it?

I also have now a LATEX mask with red see through eyes for this CAD BANE...just need a nicer leather custom made hat, and a dark brown long leather duster coat, some ammo belt and holsters, boots, brown pants, gauntlets and I just might have a nice costume to wear to C5.

I just got a call from the Mrs. My Cad Bane arrived today. :thumbsup I’ll let everyone know how it looks once I get home from the office tonight. I’m sure it’s going to be very cool. :love

Has anyone else out here picked one of these up?

Well, These will look even more cool once Capt Jack Sparrow (sith Camero) helps me with a deluxe leather Cad Bane HAT...so for those who want a nice display, This pirate might have the answer to making the best ultimate Cad HAT.

Also made some LATEX hollow MASKS with lenses that is painted with the translucent red paint, so can still see out of them. I have to put one on, and snap a photo.

contact me for price on a finished, painted latex, foam filled bust with hat and hoses on stand...

Well... No stand and no hat unless they were in a separate box that hasn't arrived yet.

Scott

p.s. After bringing Cad into my office it didn't take my daughter long to find a solution to a hatless Cad Bane.. He is now referred to as Bannah Montana.. I think Watto is jealous.

I do want to say that the pictures posted here by no means do this piece justice. I had one of the Rubies Cad Bane masks displayed in my office before this arrived and Randy’s sculpt is nearly twice the size. Once a working hat is created or found this is really going to be an amazing prop.

I think to do the hat justice, it needs to be done in leather...I've searched everywhere and this hat just doesnt seem to exist in the real world, and if it did, the hat wouldnt fit the size of the DUROS head, its larger than a human...how do I know, because I tried to wear the hat that fits CAD and it envelops me...

:lol I did the same thing. You just have to try the hat on for size when you see how big it is.

Hey, everything arrived yesterday Randy! Thank you my friend! :thumbsup

While the hat you created doesn't look bad, I would have to agree that leather would probably be the best solution for a truly accurate look. I happen to know a very creative lady who has done some incredible Star Wars related leather work for me in the past. I'm going to send her some measurements and pictures of Cad and see what she thinks. If she thinks this is something she would like to tackle I'll let you know.

Randy how bout you do vac-formed hats with thin leather/pleather glued over then.
This way you have exact control over its shape.
Great sculpt BTW,i really enjoy the Clone Wars and Cad is a great character to recreate.
