So back to the shop in the morning see what happens next never can tell with me Thanks Jim

Okay Friends, was busy in the shop got a good start on the duck. Then I had a 6 year old grand boy pop into the shop and as soon as he seen the dust on the floor from the duck he paniced cause he is alergic to dust so all activity in the shop came to a halt little fellow was with me all day which I needed i have pics to share from the day workings of the duck, this fellow just made me tired he has this big hoop net swing in the back yard and he can swing really high on it its held up with some heavy rope. we also did some mole hunting. So get ready I will have a bit to share tomorrow stay tuned everything is happening next Thanks all for the likes and comments landing bay is also coming along gathering bits for this as well see what kind of crazyness happens next Thanks Jim

Okay Friends, I have been all over the place today and haven't even left me property, I have a huge back yard with a pool we decided not to open it this year we have had tooooo much going on with wifey and I have me some grandboy time here and there haul trash on Wednesdays mow when I can keeping the dust down in the shop dustcollector will be getting here but the duck lady had a knee replacement, no hurry I have ways to control dust. One reason I haven't touched the batmobile with any paint just yet, might just have to take a day and get it done. But I( have to chase the money so a duck seem like a cha ching. So Thanks Guys for the likes as said much needed. Today was some slow work had to keep everything on spot and in line but the head is almost done even under the bill detail. Here ya go Guys Enjoy

Still a bunch more dust to fly stay tuned and see what happens next never can tell Thanks Jim

Wood ducks are one of my favorites along with the teals. Very vivid color palet.
Yes the teals do have a bunch of color I think the wood duck has them all beat though they all are beutiful birds I guess a duck is a bird it flys Thanks and again welcome keep that project going its looking cool

Okay Friends Wow Thanks for the comments and likes love it makes me make. So I had some printer set up to do, after that it was on again. So in set up I use a mirror it helps me to see the other side of the duck or sculpt or model just depends but a mirror comes in handy at times. This will let you image things to the other side keeps things in line and on point but I had to stop and walk away from it for the day cause I want to get all these feathers rite on and my refrence was coming up short I shall be doing some googling. Here is more happening head is complete and moving onward. Enjoy

Okay Guys, all the feathers on the breast are now ready for detail I tryed another tech and wasn't happy with the out come but the breast feathers will be burned and not carved. it would have worked but there was just to much fuzz burning will look so much better after getting this back in order OCD happening I worked on the back feathers also some of the main flight feathers this is where it was time to walk away and I do that often grab me mole spike and give me eye type balls a break still no luck on the mole and I bought those sonic thingys and what a joke if they pulsed more often instead of waiting I think it might drive it away. There under is me old vac table me made for the Mando project just waiting to vac some batmobile windshields coming up soon Thanks Guys This is what RPF is about learning new tricks and seeing some old man make a duck along with some other crazy stuff I get meself into Thanks A Bunch Your All Great see what happens next Thanks Jim

Okay Guys, I still got a bunch more smoothing on these feathers as you can see I only got one side done to a point still a bunch more work on this. Also got the other side to smooth out you can see how one side is smooth kinda the other side is just cut in. I spent a bunch one this one book its a cool book but I was hoping to have more all over the duck pics. Oh well you get what you pay for and I did pay a bit for this book. Well Friends lots more to do on this, stick around see what happens next Thanks All Jim

Okay Friends, Thanks for all the likes and comments keeps me a making. So I know the duck looks a bit rough but as I go it calms down a bit still a ways to go all the inperfections will disapear like magic once the burning starts. I am still a ways away from that happening. Also pictured is the very back of his crest there will be more done to that as I go. I have the back cut for the add ons also got some tail feathers happening I busted a move which give me a bit of mole hunting time, I don't take to long at that just checking some spots, the bugs will fly away with you if you stand around to long. Back to the duck to be honest this is one of my faverite ducks the pintail is a nice duck as well there are a few I like but the colorful ones are the hardest. JediMichael has me looking at my falcon his is so nice looking. Okay how about a duck Enjoy
IMG_0758.JPG
3D printing in action me the printer I can cut anything I just need to slow down on hard items like a ship make it mor measured and crisper
IMG_0759.JPG
This side will now be cleaned up
IMG_0760.JPG
IMG_0761.JPG
IMG_0762.JPG
Still quite rough but its coming along
IMG_0763.JPG
Those square feathers will get a bunch more work just wait you will see now the back of the crest I always wait to get the back all done before I do any work on that part don't want to mess up any detail cutting on the back alway can have a slip and grab and sometimes that might include a finger or knuckle and thats not nice looking and it hurts hasn't happened in a long time I work more carefully
IMG_0764.JPG
This has all been roughed in still a bunch more of this then I go back and clean everything all up make it nice and crisp then the burning I wont start that process till everything is crisp the burning will make it real looking wifey says skip the burning and I will never do that. So the rump and tail feathers and I have to cut all the wing feathers I think 10 to each side might be 5 I will have to check on this also the cover feathers will have to be made Oh Feathers a falcon is calling me that is a type of bird as well but this falcon is plastic we shall see only model I have on the bench is the viper pilot and the German solders and a dirt modified also got the landing bay to get going parts are ready to go on this quest SOOOO many quest ahead but for now a duck to finish more happening on this for sure stick around see what happens next Thanks All Jim

Okay Friends, Thanks Guys for the likes and comments this keeps me making, I don't even know where to start, was mole hunting took a bit of a break was sitting there on a cinder block and in the sand pit I seen him bumping up took my spike and missed can't belive it was quite upsetting but count it all joy there is always another time this thing was very deep I need to wait and catch him going along one of his tunnel ways this is my new stratagy. I pushed my spike all the way to past the handle then hit a hollow area I went got my shovel and dug till I started hitting roots then covered it all back up. Break time was past over so back in the shop, Here is a bit done today Enjoy

IMG_0768.JPG
Burning has started and babu looks like he is about to have duck for dinner, and there is my falcon JediMichael see the engines blank I brought the duck in to show wifey she is rushing me and art takes time some times she is happy with my progress so I didn't get fired. I also facetimed my cuz and showed him he has been asking about it how its coming along
IMG_0769.JPG
IMG_0770.JPG
Okay Guys That is about a hour of burning still a whole duck to burn also some wing feathers also I need to still cut the other top cover feathers. I just have to wait till the wing feathers are installed to know how to make them. This once was a block of wood did a bit of bandsaw cutting then got busy carving or printing me the printer I can make it what ever it may be. Still lots more to do on this Thanks again Guys stick around see what is going to happen next never can tell with me Thanks Jim
