Anybody have experience with Shapeway rings? looks like a pretty affordable option to me. How does sandstone feel/work as a daily use ring? :confused

It's literally like glued together sand, I would think not the best option for an everyday ring...

Any tips on getting stainless steel colored green? and have you had any experience with their hard plastic rings?

PS great work on your GL ring

You'd probably just have to paint your ring green since they don't offer colors in anything but sandstone and the plastics. Even then, the wintergreen color isn't really an ideal overall green

nope no clue yet how to turn the metal green. i can nickel plate and copper plate and gold plate things though. I'm not sure yet how coloring metal works. I'll look into it for the future... you never know when some skill or some piece of knowledge will come in handy in the future. I've blackened steel before, but not green

i've ordered parts in every material they offer, plus i've used printers at other companies. stainless steel from shapeways is by far my most favorite material for making things. the other materials feel too light and cheap to do anything useful with it. they're fine for display, but =/ i wont wear a 100% plastic ring

you can dye colors yourself if you pick the wsf option
