Severed Head prop

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to sfx and I need your opinions on how to make a severed head prop with a likeness to my actress, I have the life cast and it would save a lot of time for me to sculpt straight on to the plaster and then create a fibreglass mother mould. Any opinions? Thanks

How much do you need to modify the head from the lifecast? Here's one I did just by painting in a few layers of platsil gel 10 into the alginate lifecast mold, backing it up with polyfoam, and cutting and applying wounds. I knew there would be a blood drip down the back, so I split the mold along that line, and didn't have to seam it, as a result. It was only going to be seen from the back, so it was fine that the eyes were closed. Sometimes you can cut some corners if you know exactly how it's going to be used or seen. Just make sure you have hte whole build planned out before you get started.
