Seriously?? Some people really don't know Vader is Luke's Father???

Ok, just got done watching "Something Something Something Dark Side" with a friend and she was shocked when Vader/Stewie revealed to Luke/Chris that he was his father. I thought she was just joking but she really had NO idea as she "never has really seen all of the Star Wars movies".

I just showed her another video with Chevy Chase and she had no idea who he was either. I even showed her videos of him and pictures....still no idea.

She is 22 years old....and I am now ashamed to call her my friend.

You need to take on the task to teach her all the things she doesn't know and has been missing out of. All the gems of the eighties, seventies, sixties, fifties, forties, thirties, twenties, well... I don't know crap about anything that came out before that.
 
I've got a friend, a 27 year old male computer engineer, who has never seen any SW movies, or any ST movie/tv. The closest he's come is Blue Harvest. I told him he was shattering stereotypes.
 
I have a cousin who is 22 and she's never seen the Indiana Jones movies! I'm guessing she probably hasn't seen SW either, but I haven't asked yet. I was shocked my aunt and uncle never had her watch IJ though!

Shame there were never any sequels to Star Wars... :)

Also, Han built the Millennium Falcon, Nien Nunb is Admiral Ackbar's mother, and you get Ewoks by sawing Wookiees in half. :sleep

Well she probably don't know Rosebud is a sled either and a lot of other famous film history.

Some people just aren't into old movies very much.


That is probably why there is gold in dem thar remakes.
 
I've never seen Gone With The Wind, Doctor Zhivago, or The Maltese Falcon which my girlfriend thinks is a shame.

She's never seen any Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or Indiana Jones movie. Well, I take that back, she's seen Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull... no no, I was right the first time... She's never seen an Indiana Jones movie.

I was watching The Two Towers on TNT tonight and she came in and was like "AGAIN?!? You watched this last night." I had to explain to her "No babe, last night was The Fellowship of the Rings. This is the second movie, that was the first. The Return of the King is tomorrow night and that's the third." She just huffed at me and walked out.
 
It's all about cultural literacy. There are some movies and books that folks should just see/read/know about to not be looked upon like a rube. Unfortunately that standard has become pretty relaxed in recent years. People live in their own little microcosms. You'de be surprised the number of folks who have never even seen things like the Wizard of Oz.

Oh well. There are two types of people in this world my friend...;)
