Serenity - QMx's Serenity Ship Papers

I'm hoping they're adjusting the left/right paragraph justification on the first page of the ships papers before they go to print.

I ordered the Ship papers when the Amnesty offer was good. Their warehouse still hasn't shipped my Ship Papers, but Ben is without a doubt on top of his game & on the ball. He got the Amnesty document to me already. Since my display when done is going to focus on Mal, I had Ben do the amnesty document for Mal. Quick pic for those that were wondering what it looks like.

Is that the Mal picture that I photoshopped at propcircle?

WHERE'S MY GORRAMN ROYALTIEEEEESSSS?!?!?! :lol;)

Anyway, these documents definitely look awesome, I'm still trying to decide whether I need them or not. My wallet has been taking a beating lately.

Hi all -

Silverskyes - would you PM me your name? I'll check the record and see if yours has gone out yet. Thanks!

Nexus6 - Unbelievable. Yes, it is. This is the second component I inadvertently pulled from my archive that someone on the board had built (the first was a circular bar code - I pulled and dropped the one that I had gotten rather than the one I built.) I'm resifting my archive tonight. I'll drop in one of my other Mals in the future if anyone else requests it (most are having their own photos in.)

Also, I'd like to make a last call for those who haven’t received their instructional e-mail yet. All several hundred seemed to have gone through successfully, but if you haven't gotten it and feel that you should have, please PM me.

Although I like the posters and the documents, looking at the QMX website it appears that most of the props or upcoming products are extended universe stuff:

Stargate Mirror? Nice, but didn't see many of these onscreen.
Whitefalls Ships Papers, lovely as they may be (are!) they are not a replica of the actual prop.
Personalised dogtags.... nice, but again not a prop replica
Serenity posters, extended universe
BSG posters, extended universe

It's all very nice, but is there any chance that QMX will make a prop replica of an actual prop?

(Mal Gun maybe?)

It is a somewhat curious business model, I'll admit.

1) Buy an expensive license for a property to reproduce what has been seen onscreen.

2) Don't do that.

3) Produce other things that have a minor tangential relationship to aforementioned screen seen items.

Unconventional, you may say.

I call it Genius!

Hard to add anything to that, Chaka - that pretty much sums it up in a nutshell!

:lol

Well, to be fair... the Ships Papers are as close a replica to the actual prop that they could make considering they don't have the Firefly license. I guess you could call 'em the Trooper FX version of the prop in regards to accuracy, except the Serenity papers look at least as good as the originals. I'd call the dogtags a prop replica... if you want a Lee Adama inscription, can't you just order that?

I really hope the Mal pistol sells out fast once they actually have it out so they can move on to some other props... would be great to see a really accurate Operative's pistol, light up grenade or Jayne's 1911. Or why not River's "probe" headset or a light up Mr Universe card reader?

I got USPS notification today so it looks like my SPs are on the way!

Am I reading this incorrectly? Apparently, QMX is re-issuing a poster that they made "legendary" six weeks ago.

It seems to be "legendary" because it slipped through quality control with the main title misspelled.

Now, it seems that they're re-issuing it.

From the QMX home page-

We made a mistake, and that mistake has become the stuff of Browncoat legend. We’re talking about the infamous misprinted “One-Eye” Londinum poster that was available briefly at Comic-Con 2007. Due to popular demand, QMx is reissuing the Londinum poster in a limited edition of a 1,000 numbered prints. We're debuting these at just $19.95. Same 17" x 22" size and same high quality, 100-pound, satin finish paper as our retail travel posters.

So get yours now before they’re gone forever!

I wonder if they'll begin issuing Amnesty papers with "Sergeant" spelled correctly, then offer re-issued papers with "Sargeant" on them at $19.95 a pop, because that mistake is "legendary", too.

What the hell is going on here?

There was a bit of a ... difference of opinion as to which version of "Londinium" was canon.

"slipped through quality control" is an interesting interpretation of "spelled differently in the script and other references than in the mind of the author".

In the script, Londinum. Joss says Londinium. The "special edition" of the wrong set is a little odd, but to be honest, I suspect many people who would buy the poster set to begin with would like to have both versions.

Edit: This was much longer, but I found out that one of the points I made was invalid. Thanks to whitefall for the clarificaiton.
